«Իրավունք» թերթը գրում է. «Գյումրիում Ավետիսյանների յոթ հոգանոց ընտանիքի դաժան սպանությունից ամիսներ անց դեռ առաջ են գալիս ողբերգության պատճառների հետ կապված վարկածներ, որոնք, ըստ Ավետիսյանների հարազատների, նպատակ ունեն ոչ միայն խճճելու ամեն ինչ, այլեւ հանրության ուշադրությունը սեւեռելու մի այնպիսի վարկածի, որը հանցագործության պատվիրատու է ուզում տեսնել հայերի, գյումրեցիների: Այս օրերին էլ սկսել է շրջանառվել վարկած, ըստ որի՝ բարձրաստիճան մի զինվորական պատմել է, որ երբ Երազգավորս գյուղի մոտակայքում հայտնաբերել են դեպի Թուրքիա գնացող Վալերի Պերմյակովին, նա ասել է. «Ես որեւէ մեկին չեմ սպանել: Ինձ տվել են երկու պեպսիկոլա եւ երկու շաուրմա»:

Ապա այդ զինվորականը շարունակել է. «Բայց հետաքրքիր է, որ կոլայի եւ շաուրմայի եւ «չեմ սպանել»-ու մասին այս ցուցմունքը, չգիտես ինչու, անհետացել է հարցաքննության արձանագրությունից»: Չնայած այն վարկածը, թե Պերմյակովը հանցագործությունն իրականացրել է ինչ-որ մեկի կողմից նրան տված հոգեմետ նյութերի ազդեցության տակ կամ, պարզապես, կողմնակի ազդեցությամբ, նոր չէ: Եվ այն, որ այդ վարկածը տարբեր վարիացիաներով առ այսօր էլ շրջանառվում է, կարելի է՝ հասկանալ. ի վերջո այդպես էլ մնում է գոնե հրապարակայնորեն չբացատրված, թե ինչո՞ւ նոր-նոր Գյումրի ժամանած Պերմյակովը պետք է գնար նման ծանրագույն հանցագործության՝ ձեռք բարձրացնելով մինչեւ իսկ 7 ամսական երեխայի վրա, եւ ինչո՞ւ նա մտավ հենց Ավետիսյանների տուն:

Ընդ որում, եթե ի սկզբանե շատերի մոտ կար այն մտավախությունը, թե՝ ռուսներն այդ մասին գիտեն եւ իրենց ձեռնտու չէ ասել, ապա գոնե դա է շրջանառությունից դուրս եկել, հաշվի առնելով, որ Պերմյակովը փոխանցվելու է հայկական կողմին, այսինքն, եթե որեւէ նրբերանգ մութ մնա, դա արդեն մեր իրավապահների մեղքով կլինի»:
