Աշխարհում մինչեւ յոթ տարեկան շուրջ 87 մլն երեխաներ իրենց ամբողջ կյանքն անցկացրել են զինված հակամարտությունների պայմաններում, ինչը բացասական ներգործություն Է ունենում նրանց մտավոր զարգացման վրա: Այդ մասին մարտի 23-ին հայտնել Է ՄԱԿ-ի Մանկական հիմնադրամը (ՅՈՒՆ ԻՍԵՖ), որի փորձագետները վերլուծել են այն սթրեսի հետեւանքները, որը մարդկանց ուղեկցում Է մարտական գործողությունների գոտում:
«Յոթից ցածր տարիքի ավելի քան 86,7 մլն երեխաներ իրենց ամբողջ կյանքն անցկացրել են հակամարտությունների գոտիներում, ինչն սպառնում Է նրանց մտավոր զարգացմանը,-ասված Է ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ի հաղորդագրության մեջ:-Հակամարտության գոտիներում ապրող երեխաները հաճախ են ենթարկվում հուզական ցնցումների, ինչը կարող Է հասցնել մշտական քայքայիչ սթրեսի: Այդ վիճակը արգելակում Է փոխանակությունը գլխուղեղի նյարդային բջիջների միջեւ, ինչի հետեաւնքներն զգացվում են ողջ կյանքի ընթացքում՝ ազդելով մտավոր, սոցիալական ու ֆիզիկական զարգացման վրա», հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
