 ԵՊՀ ֆիզիկայի ֆակուլտետում տեղի է ունեցել գիտական խորհրդի ընդլայնված նիստ՝ նվիրված անվանի ֆիզիկոս, գիտության վաստակավոր գործիչ, պրոֆեսոր Վիլիկ Հարությունյանի 80-ամյակին: Հայաստանի անկախ հանրապետության բարձրագույն կրթության և գիտության առաջին նախարարի, ֆիզիկոս-տեսաբանի, ԵՊՀ երկարամյա դասախոսի մեծարմանը նվիրված հանդիս ավոր նիստին ներկա են եղել ՀՀ ԳԱԱ նախագահ Ռադիկ Մարտիրոսյանը, Գիտության պետական կոմիտեի նախագահ Սամվել Հարությունյանը, ԵՊՀ ռեկտոր Արամ Սիմոնյանը, պրոռեկտորները, ֆակուլտետների դեկաններ, պրոֆեսորադասախոսական կազմի ներկայացուցիչներ, ուսանողներ, ինչպես նաև ընտանիքի անդամները՝ պրոֆեսորի այրին և դուստրերը՝ ՀՀ ԿԳՆ փոխնախարար Կարինե Հարությունյանը և Ակադեմիական փոխճանաչման և շարժունության ազգային տեղեկատվական կենտրոնի տնօրեն Գայանե Հարությունյանը:

Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ կրթության և գիտության նախարարության հասարակայնության հետ կապերի և  տեղեկատվության  վարչությունից, Ֆիզիկայի ֆակուլտետի դեկան Ռոլանդ Ավագյանը, ողջունելով նիստի մասնակիցներին, նշել է, որ Վիլիկ Հարությունյանը մեծ ներդրում է ունեցել ոչ միայն Մայր բուհի ֆիզիկայի ֆակուլտետի, այլև ամբողջ ոլորտի զարգացման գործում: «Վիլիկ Հարությունյանը 20-րդ դարի համաշխարհային ճանաչում ունեցÕ �ղ հայ ականավորգիտնական էր, մանկավարժ, կրթության և գիտության համակարգի հմուտ ղեկավար»,- ը նդգծել է ֆակուլտետի դեկանը: Այնուհետև ընդհանուր ֆիզիկայի և աստղաֆիզիկայի ամբիոնի վարիչ Ատոմ Մուրադյանը ներկայացրել է պրոֆեսորի կենսագրությունը՝ սկսած նրա՝ Մոսկվայի Լոմոնոսովի անվան պետական համալսարանում ուսանելու տարիներից մինչև քվանտային և լազերային ֆիզիկայի ոլորտում արձանագրած գիտական նվաճումները, Կոնդենսացված միջավայրերի ֆիզիկայի ինստիտուտի, ապա նաև «Լազերային տեխնիկա» ՊՓԲԸ տնօրենի գործունությունը: Գիտական գործունեությանը զուգահեռ՝ Վիլիկ Հարությունյանը ծավալել է նաև հասարակական-քաղաքական գործունեություն: Նա եղել է նորանկախ հանրապետության բարձրագույն կրթության և գիտության առաջին նախարարը: Նրան է վերագրվում Հայաստանում Ամերիկյան համալսարանի հիմնադրման նախաձեռնությունը:

ՀՀ ԳԱԱ նախագահ Ռադիկ Մարտիրոսյանը իր խոսքում շեշտել է, որ Վիլիկ Հարությունյանը հայ գիտական մտքի երախտավորներից է. «Պրոֆեսոր Հարությունյանը գիտության իսկական նվիրյալ էր, ով խիզախորեն ու վստահքայլերով առաջ էր գնում՝ ստեղծելով հզոր ու մնայուն գիտական ժառանգություն»,- ընդգծել է Ռադիկ Մարտիրոսյանը:

Վիլիկ Հարությունյանը հաջողությամբ համատեղել է գիտական, կազմակերպչական և հասարակական գործունեությունը մանկավարժական գործունեության հետ: 1960 թվականից դասախոսելով ԵՊՀ ֆիզիկայի ֆակուլտետում` նա պատրաստել է գիտության 25 թեկնածու և 7 դոկտոր, ինչպես նաև հարյուրավոր երիտասարդ, տաղանդավոր մասնագետներ, որոնցից շատերն այսօր հաջողությամբ աշխատում են աշխարհի առաջատար համալսարաններում` բարձր պահելով Հայաստանի գիտնականների վարկանիշը: Պրոֆեսոր Վիլիկ Հարությունյանը կյանքից հեռացել է 64 տարեկան հասակում՝ թողնելով գիտական տեսական և գործնական հսկ այածավալ ժառանգություն:
