Գազարի հյութը բարձրացնում է հիվանդությունների նկատմամբ օրգանիզմի դիմադրողականությունը, հանգստացնում նյարդային համակարգը, ուժ հաղորդում ներզատիչ համակարգին (մասնավորապես՝ վերերիկամային գեղձերին), հզորացնում է օրգանիզմի պաշտպանական ուժերը` գրիպի, հայմորիտի, կոկորդի հիվանդությունների, բրոնխիտի դեպքում։

Գազարի հյութը հին ժամանակներում լայնորեն կիրառվել է երիկամներից քարերի եւ միզապարկից ու միզուղիներից ավազի դուրսբերման համար։

Գազարի հյութը, օժտված լինելով արյունը մաքրող հատկությամբ, մաքրում է լյարդը, լեղուղիները, վերականգնում սպիտակուցային, ճարպային ու ածխաջրային ակտիվ փոխանակությունը, նպաստում օրգանիզմից թափոնների դուրսբերմանը։ Մաշկային, խոցային, արյան հիվանդություններն արագ նահանջում են գազարի հյութի առատ (3-4 լիտր) օգտագործման դեպքում։

Գազարը, որպես բուսական ծագում ունեցող մթերք, առաջին հերթին աչքի է ընկնում կարոտինի մեծ պարունակությամբ, որն օրգանիզմում վերածվում է վիտամին A-ի։ Գազարի հյութի մեջ այն 4 անգամ ավելի շատ է, քան պոմիդորի եւ ծիրանի հյութերում։ Օգտակար է իմանալ, որ գազարի մեջ պարունակվող կարոտինը օրգանիզմի կողմից ավելի լավ է յուրացվում, եթե գազարի հյութին բուսական յուղ ավելացվի։ Բանջարեղենի մյուս տեսակներից գազարը շահեկանորեն առանձնանում է նաեւ կալիումի մեծ պարունակությամբ։ Իսկ կալիումը խիստ անհրաժեշտ է սրտի անոթների եւ երիկամների հիվանդությունների դեպքում։ Համեմատաբար վերջերս բացահայտվել է գազարի բուժական եւս մեկ հատկանիշ, գազարը մանրէասպան հատկանիշով չի զիջում սոխին ու սխտորին: Թարմ գազարը հաճախ օգտագործելու պարագայում բերանի խոռոչի մանրէները զգալիորեն նվազում են։

Արյունատար անոթների խցանումներով ու արյան բարձր մածուցիկությամբ տառապողները օրը մեկ անգամ կես բաժակից ավելի գազարի հյութ չպետք է խմեն, որովհետեւ այն «թանձրացնում» է արյունը, որը հղի է ինսուլտի ու ինֆարկտի վտանգով։ Սակայն այդպիսի հիվանդները գազարի բարերար ազդեցությունից զուրկ չմնալու համար կարող են գազարի հյութը խառնել ուրիշ հյութերի հետ։ Գազարի հյութը կարող է վնաս հասցնել նաեւ ստամոքսի բարձր թթվայնության, խոցային սուր հիվանդությունների, լույծի, ֆոսֆատուրիայի, էնդերիտի, կոլիտի, երբեմն էլ շաքարախտի դեպքում։ Հում գազարի հյութը մեծապես նպաստում է նաեւ ատամների առողջության վերականգնմանը, քաղցկեղային հիվանդությունների բուժմանը, սակավարյունության բուժմանը։ Գազարի հյութը պետք է լավ քամված լինի, չպետք է համակցվի շաքարի, օսլայի, ալյուրի հետ։
