ԱՄՆ-ի Կոնգրեսը ցեղասպանություն է ճանաչել Մերձավոր Արեւելքում քրիստոնյաների սպանությունները

ԱՄՆ-ի Կոնգրեսի Ներկայացուցիչների պալատը մարտի 14-ին պաշտպանել է բանաձեւի այն նախագիծը, որը հորդորում է ԱՄՆ-ի եւ մյուս երկրների իշխանություններին՝ քրիստոնյաների սպանություններն ու նրանց նկատմամբ դաժան գործողությունները, մասնավորապես, Մերձավոր Արեւելքում, ճանաչել ցեղասպանություն եւ հանցագործություններ մարդկության դեմ: Նախաձեռնությանը հավանություն են տվել 393 կոնգրեսականներ՝ երկրի երկու կուսակցություններից:

Կատարման համար ոչ պարտադիր փաստաթղթի հեղինակը Նեբրասկայի նահանգից հանրապետական Ջեֆ Ֆորտենբերին է: Տեքստի համաձայն՝ բոլոր կառավարություններն ու միջազգային կազմակերպությունները, այդ թվում՝ ՄԱԿ-ն ու նրա գլխավոր քարտուղարը, պետք է ոչ միայն ցեղասպանություն ճանաչեն քրիստոնյաների նկատմամբ կիրառվող բռնությունները, այլեւ դրանց վերաբերվեն որպես պատերազմական հանցագործությունների:

Բացի այդ, քաղաքական գործչի կարծիքով, ՄԱԿ-ի անդամները պետք է դիմեն արաբական երկրներին ու հորդորեն նրանց՝ տարածաշրջանային կամ միջազգային դատարաններ ստեղծել նման դեպքերը քննելու համար: Բանաձեւի նախագծի կարեւոր դրույթներից մեկում ընդգծվում է բոլոր այն անձանց ու խմբավորումների նկատմամբ պատժամիջոցների անհրաժեշտությունը, որոնց գործողությունները հանգեցրել են քրիտոնյաների հարկադրական վերաբնակմանը նրանց զբաղեցրած տարածքներից: Ինչպես նշվում է, հանցագործներին անհրաժեշտ է հետեւել, ձերբակալել եւ ենթարկել օրենքով նախատեսված պատժի, հաղորդե լ Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
