<<Կպայթեցնես գանգը թիվ մեկ ազգասպանին,- ասում է Շահան Նաթալին Սողոմոնին,- և չես փորձել փախչիլ, կկանգնիս տեղդ ոտքդ սատակին վրա ու կհանձնվիս ոստիկաններուն, որոնք կգան ու կձերբակալեն քեզ>>:(Շահան Նաթալի, Թուրքերը և մենք, Երևան 1992թ., էջ 12 ):
Նայեցի ժամացույցին ,-հիշում է Թեհլիրյանը,- 10-ն էր: Ուհլանտ գնալու իր սովորական ժամը: Զենքը վերցրի` պատրաստ դուրս գալու: Հանկարծ նա հայտնվեց դռան մոտ և փղի ծանրությամբ սկսեց վար իջնել: Երբ դուրս ելա փողոց, դիմացի մայթով ուղվել էր դեպի Ուհլանտ: Սառը դատողությունն ինձ ասում էր, որ այս անգամ անկարող պիտի լինի ազատվել ձեռքիցս, բայց և հուզումը բազմալեզու աղաղակներով փոթորկում էր ինձ:
-Հասի'ր, վազի'ր,անցի'ր մյուս մայթը ու շեղակի կռնակից, մեջքի'ն, գլխի'ն, շու'տ, անցի'ր փողոցը…
Մայթից իջա փողոց` ետևը անցնելու համար, բայց հանկարծ մի բան ետ մղեց ինձ, հազար անգամ պարզված բացորոշ բանն այդ պահին մեկից մեկ կասկածելի թվաց. նա է արդյոք ?…
-Անցիր դիմացը, դիմա'ցը, դիմա'ցը,ուղղակի ճակատի'ն, շու'տ, շու'տ վազի'ր…
Դիմացի մայթով հավասարվեցի նրան, արագ քայլերով բավական առաջացա, անցա նույն մայթը, ուսկից գնում էր նա: Ետ դարձա: Մոտենում էինք իրար: Նա գալիս էր ճեմելու ձևով`ձեռնափայտը անփույթ ճոճելով: Մի կարճ տարածություն մնաց`զարմանալի անդորրություն համակեց էությունս: Հավասարվելու պահին Թալեաթը շեշտակի նայեց ինձ. աչքերի մեջ առկայծեց մահվան սարսուռը: Վերջին քայլը բեկվեց, միքիչ թեքվեց, որ խուսափի, բայց զենքը դուրս քաշելս ու գլխին պարպելս մեկ եղավ…(Սողոմոն Թեհլիրյան, Վերհիշումներ, Թալեաթի ահաբեկումը, Երևան 1993թ., էջ 207 ):
