Շատ մասնագետներ տարակարծիք են՝ կարելի՞ է արդյոք, որ երեխաները ծնողների հետ միասին քնեն: Կա մի խումբ, որը դրա մեջ երեխայի համար ֆիզիկական և հոգեբանական խնդիր է տեսնում, կան մասնագետներ, որոնք կարծում են, որ դա բնական երևույթ է և ոչ մի վտանգ չի պարունակում: Որո՞նք են երկու խմբի ներկայացրած փաստարկները:

1990-ականների Եվրոպայում անցկացված հետազոտությունները ցույց են տվել, որ այն երեխաները, ովքեր վաղ հասակում քնել են ծնողների կողքին, ավելի ինքնավստահ են, անկախ և լավ են սովորում:

Նորածինները, որոնք գտնվում են ծնողների կողքին, խոչընդոտում են ծնողների ինտիմ հարաբերություններին: Բացի այդ, նման դեպքերում ծնողների համար դժվար է լինում հարմարվելն ու հանգիստ քնելը:
Մեծանալով՝ երեխան ծնողների մահճակալում իրեն զգում է ոչ թե հյուր, այլ՝ տեր, ինչը հետագայում դժվարացնում է երկու կողմի գիշերային քունը:
Բացի այդ, երեխային ծնողների մահճակալից «հանելը» կարող է ցավագին ընդունվել երեխայի կողմից և հոգեբանական տրավմա դառնալ նրա համար:
