ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Սեյրան Օհանյանի կինը՝ Ռուզաննա Խաչատրայնն իր ֆեյսբուքում գրել է.«Մարտի 8-ը՝ որպես Կանանց միջազգային տոն, առաջին անգամ նշվել է 1914 թվականին: Հայաստանում այն ազդարարում է Կանանց միամսյակի սկիզբը (1995 թ-ից):
Նախքան շնորհավորանքի ջերմ խոսքեր հնչեցնելը գարնանային այս ցեղեցիկ տոնի առթիվ՝ իմ հարգանքը, երախտագիտությունը, խոնարհումը՝ Արցախյան պատերազմում իրենց կյանքը զոհաբերած հայ կանանց, մայրերին, որոնց զավակների արյունով, հերոսական մաքառումով գծվեցին մեր հայրենիքի սահմանները: Նրանք արիության, պատվի, հայրենիքին նվիրումի խորհրդանիշ են դարձել բոլորիս համար:
Շնորհավորում եմ զինվորի վերադարձին սպասող մայրերին, տատիկներին, քույրերին, նրանց սիրող աղջիկներին, համբերություն եմ մաղթում ձեզ, իմ ջերմ բարեմաղթությունները, առ Աստված աղոթքներս միացնում եմ ձեր սրտի սպասումին և տագնապին... Վստահ եմ, որ նորօրյա մեր զինվորները հերոսություններով, սխրանքով, փառքով կգծեն տունդարձի ճանապարհը՝ լցնելով հայրենի օջախները խինդով, ուրախությամբ, ծափ ու ծիծաղով:
