Հայոց ցեղասպանության թեման Թուրքիայի խորհրդարանական ընտրությունների քարոզարշավի ժամանակ միայն քրդամետ «Ժողովուրդների ժողովրդավարություն» կուսակցությունն  է բարձրացնում, այն էլ՝ ընտրողաբար՝ թիրախային լսարանների հետ հանդիպման ժամանակ: Այս մասին Tert.am-ի հետ զրույցում ասաց ԵՊՀ արևելագիտության ֆակուլտետի փոխդեկան, թուրքագետ Ռուբեն Մելքոնյանը՝ խոսելով Թուրքիայի խորհրդարանական ընտրություններում կուսակցությունների կողմից Հայոց ցեղասպանության հարցի բարձրացման մասին:

«Երբ լսարանը տրամադրող է, և Ցեղասպանության մասին հայտարարությունները կարող են իրենց քվեներ բերել, քարոզչության մեջ անդրադառնում են Ցեղասպանության թեմային: Որպես իմ ասածի ապացույց՝  նշեմ, որ իշխող կուսակցությունը և, մասնավորապես, վարչապետ Դավութօղլուն քրդամետ կուսակցությանը քննադատում են նաև այդ համատեքստում, թե՝ եթե ընտրեք նրանց, ապա նրանք քաղաքական օրակարգ կբերեն Հայոց ցեղասպանության խնդիրը, նրանք հայկական Սփյուռքի կուսակցությունն են և այլն»,-տեղեկացրեց Մելքոնյանը:

Ռուբեն Մելքոնյանը նշեց, որ ամեն անգամ ակնհայտ է դառնում, որ Թուրքիայում ցանկացած թեկնածու, ով մտնում է քաղաքական գործընթացների մեջ, կամա թե ակամա դառնում է հակահայ, ազգայնամոլ, քանի որ ուղղակի ստիպված է անել հակահայկական հայտարարություններ, որպեսզի Թուրքիայի հակահայկական հասարակությունը նրան ընկալի և քվեներ տա:

«Մենք նկատում ենք, որ Դավութօղլուն անում է ագրեսիվ, հակահայկական հայտարարություններ: Օրինակ՝ վերջին հայտարարությունն այն է, թե՝ ի՞նչ եք սպասում քրդական կուսակցությունից, եթե նա հայկական Սփյուռքի ընկերն է, ինչպե՞ս կարող է հայկական Սփյուռքի ընկերը լավ քայլ անել, և ավելացրեց՝  ասա՝ ով է ընկերդ, ասեմ՝ ով ես դու»,-նշեց թուրքագետը:
