Իռլանդիայում փետրվարի 26-ին խորհրդարանական ընտրություններ են անցկացվում: Երկրի քաղաքացիները պետք Է որոշեն բարձրագույն օրենսդիր մարմնի կազմը, որը բաղկացած Է 158 պատգամավորներից: Քվեարկության արդյունքներն անմիջական ազդեցություն կունենան ապագա խորհրդարանական կոալիցիայի փոխդասավորության վրա, որն իշխանության ղեկին կգտնվի առաջիկա հինգ տարում:
Տեղի սոցիոլոգների խոսքով՝ երկրի քաղաքական ուժերից ոչ մեկը չի կարողանա ստանալ բավարար քանակությամբ պատգամավորական մանդատներ միակուսակցական կառավարություն կազմելու համար: Հանրապետության գործող վարչապետ Էնդա Քենին, որը գլխավորում Է Fine Gael աջ կենտրոնամետ կուսակցությունը, բոլոր շանսերն ունի պահպանելու իր աթոռը, նշում են փորձագետները:
