1. Ձեռքի առաջին ժամացույցները ստեղծվել են XIX դարի սկզբներին Եվգենի Բոգարնի համար, բայց այն ժամանակ այդ միտքը չգնահատվեց ըստ արժանվույն: XIX դարի վերջին` պատերազմի ժամանակ, գրպանի ժամացույցի օգտագործման անհարմարության պատճառով զինվորականները սկսեցին կրել ժամացույց դաստակի վրա: Իսկ ձեռքի ժամացույցները վերջնական ճանաչում ստացան միայն XX դարի վերջին: Հիմա այն օգտագործվում է որպես աքսեսուար՝ բջջային հեռախոսների տարածման պատճառով:

2. Եթե ատամներով վերցնեք ժամացույցն ու փակեք Ձեր ականջները, ապա ժամացույցի տկտկոցը կվերածվի շատ ուժեղ, ծանր հարվածների - այ այդքան նրա ձայնը կուժեղանա:

3.Մեկ ձեռքի ժամացույց պատրաստելու համար անհրաժեշտ է ավելի քան 20 մարդ:

Որպես կանոն, ժամացույցի մասնիկներ պատրաստելու հիմնական գործողությունները կատարվում են Շվեյցարիայում՝ ավտոմատացված սարքավորումների և ժամանակակից մեխանիզմների միջոցով: Միայն եզակի կազմակերպություններ, որոնք արտադրում են տասնյակ հազարավոր դոլար արժողությամբ ժամացույցներ, կարող են իրենց թույլ տալ մեխանիզմների ձեռքով հավաքում և ամեն մասնիկի կատարելագործում ու հղկում:

5. Tissot ապրանքանիշի պատմությունը սկսում է 1853թ.-ից, երբ Շվեյցարիայի Le Locle վայրում հայր և որդի Թիսոթները հիմնեցին ժամացույցի ընկերություն: Դա մի փոքրիկ արհեստանոց էր, որտեղ աշխատում էին տերերը: Ժամացույցների արտադրության քանակը մեծացավ այն ժամանակ, երբ նրանք մեծաքանակ պատվեր ստացան ռուսական օֆիցերների համար գրպանի ժամացույցներ պատրաստելու: Հետագայում` այդ պատվիրատուի կորստից հետո, կապված 1917թ.-ի հեղաշրջման հետ, սկսվեց սերիական արտադրությունը: Արհեստանոցն աշխատանք էր ապահովում ֆերմեր-ժամագործների համար: Վերջիններս մի քանի շաբաթ անց բերում էին արտադրանքը «Cret-Vaillant» ընկերություն: Ժամացույցները ենթարկվում էին փորձաքննության «TISSOT» ընկերությունում և համապատասխան որակի մակնշում էին ստանում: Այն ժամացույցները, որոնք չէին համապատասխանում ստանդարտներին, հեռացվում էին:

6. 1974թ.-ից, երբ «Tissot»-ը դարձավ «Le Mans» մրցավազքի հիմնական հովանավորը, կազմակերպությունը որպես գլխավոր հովանավոր կամ «ցուցակավար» բազմիցս իր մասնակցությունն ունեցավ սպորտային այնպիսի մեծ իրադարձություններին, ինչպիսիք են Ֆոլմուլա1-ը, Լեռնային հեծանվավազքի համաշխարհային  գավաթը, FIM-ի համաշխարհային առաջնությունները և այլն:

7. Համարվում է, որ շվեյցարական ժամացույցների «Swatch» ապրանքանիշի անվանումը գալիս է «Swiss Watch»-ից (շվեյցարական ժամեր), բայց Նիկոլաս Ջորջ Հայեկը պնդում էր, որ իրականում բառակապակցությունը գալիս է «Second Watch»-ից (երկրորդ ժամացույց), այսինքն` ամենօրյա ժամացույցներ՝ հասանելի աքսեսուարներ:

Ներկայումս աշխարհում տարեկան արտադրվում է ժամացույցի ավելի քան 1 միլիարդ մեխանիզմ: Դրանցից մոտ 60%-ը բաժին է հասնում Ճապոնիային: Ամենաթանկ ժամացույցները շվեյցարականերն են, այդ պատճառով շվեյցարական ընկերությունները զիջում են ճապոնացիներին արտադրանքի քանակով, բայց շահույթի տեսանկյունից անհամեմետելի առավելություն ունեն:

9. Chopard’s-ն աշխարհի ամենաթանկարժեք ժամացույցն է: Ադամանդների կարատների ընդհանուր քանակը 201 է: Դրա արժեքն է 25 միլիոն դոլար:
