Ավստրալիայում հետաքննություն է ընթանում հինգ տարեկան տղայի մահվան դեպքով։ Ըստ նախնական տեղեկությունների՝ երեխայի ծնողները նրան և մյուս երեխաներին գիշերները կպչուն ժապավենով ամրացրել են քնապարկերի մեջ։ 

Տղային անգիտակից վիճակում հայտնաբերել են տանը։ Դեպքի վայր ժամանած շտապօգնության աշխատակիցները փորձել են վերակենդանացնել նրան, սակայն չեն կարողացել փրկել երեխայի կյանքը։

Տան խուզարկության ընթացքում քննիչները պարզել են, որ երեխաներին պարբերաբար քնապարկերի մեջ ամուր փաթաթել են կպչուն ժապավենով՝ այդ թվում՝ գլխի շրջանում։

Մահացած երեխայի հայրը և խորթ մայրը հարցաքննության ժամանակ հայտնել են, որ տղան զարգացման խնդիրներ է ունեցել։ Նրանց խոսքով՝ ժապավենն օգտագործել են նրա գլուխը ֆիքսելու համար, որպեսզի երեխան ավելի խոր քնի։

Past.am-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ սպանությունների գործերով քննիչներն այժմ համագործակցում են երեխաների պաշտպանության ծառայությունների հետ՝ պարզելու երեխաների նկատմամբ հնարավոր համակարգված բռնության հանգամանքները։ Քննարկվում է նաև երեխայի հորն ու խորթ մորը պաշտոնական մեղադրանքներ առաջադրելու հարցը։

Մյուս երեխաները հեռացվել են ընտանիքից և հանձնվել հարազատների խնամքին։ Հինգ տարեկան տղայի մահվան ստույգ պատճառը դեռևս հայտնի չէ։
