Բարաք Օբաման գալիք տարվա հունվարին իր նախագահական լիազորությունների ժամկետի լրանալուց հետո ինչ-որ փուլում կարող Է պայքարել ԱՄՆ-ի նահանգներից մեկի նահանգապետի պաշտոնի համար:
Կատակով արված այս հայտարարությամբ ԱՄՆ-ի վարչակազմի ղեկավարը փետրվարի 21-ի երեկոյան հանդես եկել Սպիտակ տանն ամենամյա հանդիսավոր ընդունելության ժամանակ, որը կազմակերպվել Էր Նահանգապետերի ազգային ասոցացիայի պատվին:
«Սա իմ վերջին ընթրիքն Է նահանգապետերի ասոցացիայի պատվին, համենայն դեպս վերջինը՝ նախագահի պաշտոնում»,-ասել Է ԱՄՆ-ի ղեկավարը: Լսարանը նրա հայտարարության երկրորդ մասը դիմավորել Է խրախուսական ծիծաղով եւ ծափահարություններով: Եվ, քանի որ այդ խոսքերը նկատելի աշխուժություն են առաջ բերել դահլիճում, Օբաման շտապել Է հավաստիացնել. «Պարզապես կատակում եմ: Սա կատակ Էր»: «Ցանկանում Էի տեսնել՝ ինչպես կարձագանքի Միշելը»,-հավելել Է նախագահը՝ նկատի ունենալով իր տիկնոջը: Նրա այս պատասխանը ծիծաղի եւս մեկ ալիք Է առաջացրել հավաքվածների մոտ, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
