ԱՄՆ-ի Նյու Յորք նահանգի Մեխանիկվիլ քաղաքում սարսափելի ընտանեկան ողբերգություն է բացահայտվել։ Ոստիկանությունը բնակարանում հայտնաբերել է նույն ընտանիքի վեց անդամների մարմիններ, որոնք, ըստ նախնական քննության տվյալների, այնտեղ մնացել էին շուրջ երկու շաբաթ։

Իրավապահները բնակարան են ժամանել այն բանից հետո, երբ հարևանները հայտնել են, որ արդեն երկար ժամանակ բնակարանից ոչ ոք դուրս չի եկել, իսկ վարագույրները մշտապես փակ են եղել։

Բնակարանում հայտնաբերվել են 64-ամյա Էմի Ստեդմանի, նրա 44-ամյա դստեր՝ Սառա Մայերսի, ինչպես նաև վերջինիս չորս երեխաների մարմինները։ Երեխաները եղել են 13, 11 և 10 տարեկան։

Նախնական քննության տվյալներով՝ ողբերգության կենտրոնում եղել է երեխաների տատիկը՝ Էմի Ստեդմանը։ Քննիչները բնակարանում հայտնաբերել են մեծ քանակությամբ դեղամիջոցներ, ինչպես նաև կնոջ կողմից թողնված գրություն, որում նա ստանձնել է տեղի ունեցածի պատասխանատվությունը։

Սակայն հետագա քննության ընթացքում պարզվել է, որ երեխաների մայրը նույնպես, ըստ իրավապահների, կարող էր մասնակցություն ունենալ տեղի ունեցածի նախապատրաստմանը։

Ոստիկանությունը ուսումնասիրել է երկու կանանց միջև եղած հաղորդագրությունները և, ըստ քննության վարկածի, պարզել, որ նրանք մի քանի օր քննարկել են իրենց գործողությունները։

Քննիչների ուշադրությունը գրավել է նաև Էմի Ստեդմանի հեռախոսում հայտնաբերված որոնումների պատմությունը, որը վերաբերում էր տարբեր դեղամիջոցների ազդեցությանը և մարդու առողջության վրա դրանց հնարավոր հետևանքներին։

Ըստ Past.am-ի տվյալների՝ ողբերգության հնարավոր պատճառը երեխաների խնամակալության շուրջ երկարատև վեճն էր։ Դեպքից մի քանի օր առաջ դատարանը երեխաների հորը՝ Յուտայի բնակիչ Բրեդի Հարմոնին, թույլ էր տվել 60 օրով տեսակցել երեխաներին։ Նշվում է, որ դա պետք է լիներ նրա առաջին երկարատև հանդիպումը երեխաների հետ վերջին վեց տարիների ընթացքում։

Էմի Ստեդմանը, ըստ քննության նյութերի, կարծում էր, որ երեխաների հոր հետ հանդիպումը կարող է վտանգ ներկայացնել նրանց համար։ Միևնույն ժամանակ, հրապարակված տեղեկությունների համաձայն, հոր նկատմամբ բռնության վերաբերյալ որևէ հաստատված ապացույց չի ներկայացվել, իսկ նա ինքն էլ հերքում է այդ մեղադրանքները։

Ողբերգությունը բացահայտվել է միայն 13 օր անց, երբ անհանգստացած հարևաններից մեկը դիմել է ոստիկանություն։

Դեպքը շարունակում է լայն արձագանք առաջացնել ԱՄՆ-ում, իսկ իրավապահները դեռևս ուսումնասիրում են ընտանիքում տեղի ունեցած ողբերգության բոլոր հանգամանքներն ու հնարավոր դրդապատճառները։
