Չինական Trina Solar ընկերությունը մշակել է նոր սերնդի առևտրային արևային վահանակ, որը սահմանել է համաշխարհային ռեկորդ արևային էներգիայի փոխակերպման արդյունավետության համար։ Վահանակը հասնում է 907 Վտ ելքային հզորությամբ 29.2% փոխակերպման արդյունավետության, ինչը այն դասում է զանգվածային շուկայի համար երբևէ արտադրված ամենաբարձր արդյունավետությամբ արևային մոդուլների շարքում, գրում է ixbt.com–ը։

Այս տեխնոլոգիական առաջընթացը հիմնված է տանդեմային դիզայնի վրա, որտեղ վերին շերտը պատրաստված է պերովսկիտային նյութից, իսկ ստորին շերտը ավանդական սիլիցիումից։ Այս դասավորությունը թույլ է տալիս վահանակին կլանել արևային ճառագայթման ավելի լայն սպեկտր։ Պերովսկիտային շերտը որսում է բարձր էներգիայի լույսի ալիքները, մինչդեռ սիլիցիումային շերտը որսում է այն ալիքները, որոնք կանցնեին վերին շերտով առանց կլանման։ Այս երկշերտ լուծումը զգալիորեն մեծացնում է էներգիայի արտադրությունը վահանակի մակերեսից համեմատած ավանդական միաշերտ սիլիցիումային համակարգերի հետ։ Անկախ փորձարկումները հաստատել են վահանակի հայտարարված կատարողական բնութագրերը ցույց տալով, որ պերովսկիտային տեխնոլոգիան դուրս է եկել լաբորատոր հետազոտությունների սահմաններից և պատրաստ է լայնածավալ առևտրային կիրառման։

Ժամանակակից էներգիայի արտադրության մեջ օգտագործվող սիլիցիումային արևային վահանակները մոտենում են իրենց տեսական առավելագույն արդյունավետությանը։ Պերովսկիտային նյութերը առաջարկում են այլընտրանքային լուծում, որը կարող է հաղթահարել  սահմանափակումները լույսի կլանման իրենց ֆիզիկական հատկությունների շնորհիվ։
