Եվրոպայում ՆԱՏՕ-ի Միացյալ զինված ուժերի գերագույն հրամանատար, ամերիկացի գեներալ Ալեքսուս Գրինկևիչը Պենտագոնին ծանուցել է Իրանի կողմից բալիստիկ հրթիռների կիրառմամբ հարվածներից Իսրայելի պաշտպանությունն ապահովելու համար ուժերի պակասի մասին։ Այս մասին հայտնել է The Washington Post (WP) թերթը։
Պարբերականի աղբյուրների փոխանցմամբ՝ Եվրոպայում ԱՄՆ առանցքային գեներալն այս շաբաթ մասնավոր կարգով նախազգուշացրել է Պենտագոնին, որ ինքը չունի բավարար ռազմածովային ուժեր՝ Իսրայելը բալիստիկ հրթիռներից հետագայում պաշտպանելու համար։
Գրինկևիչը, ով միաժամանակ հանդիսանում է ԱՄՆ զինված ուժերի եվրոպական հրամանատարության ղեկավարը, գրավոր ծանուցում է ուղարկել ամերիկյան ռազմական գերատեսչության ղեկավարությանը, որում ընդգծել է, որ առանց ՌԾՈՒ-ի հավելյալ ականակրի (էսկադրային ականակրի) ինքը ստիպված կլինի նախապատվությունը տալ ԱՄՆ տարածքի, այլ ոչ թե Իսրայելի պաշտպանության ապահովմանը։
Հրապարակման մեջ ճշտվում է, որ Միջերկրական ծովի արևելյան հատվածում ԱՄՆ ականակիրները տարիներ ի վեր կիրառվում են Իսրայելի պաշտպանության ապահովմանը աջակցելու համար։ Ինչպես ընդգծում է պարբերականը, այդ նավերը հագեցած են ռադիոլոկացիոն համակարգերով և ՀՕՊ միջոցներով, որոնց օգնությամբ խոցում էին Իսրայելի ուղղությամբ արձակված հրթիռները ոչ միայն Իրանի, այլև «Անսար Ալլահ» շարժման եմենցի հութիների կողմից։
ԱՄՆ զինված ուժերի եվրոպական հրամանատարությունը համակարգում է այդ գործողությունները Միջերկրական ծովում և միաժամանակ պահպանում է պատրաստվածությունը Եվրոպայում հնարավոր հակամարտությանը մասնակցելու համար։
Ինչպես հետևում է նյութից, հուլիսի 31-ի դրությամբ ամերիկյան երկու ականակիր գտնվում էին Միջերկրական ծովում, երեքը՝ Իսպանիայի Ռոտա բազայում։ Արաբական ծովում ԱՄՆ նավերի խմբավորումը, որը կիրառվում է, մասնավորապես, Իրանի ծովային շրջափակման համար, ներառում էր 11 ականակիր։ Եվս մեկ ամերիկյան ականակիր գտնվում էր Կարմիր ծովում, ասվում է հրապարակման մեջ։
