Մարդկության պատմության ընթացքում հազարավոր մարդիկ անհետացել են առանց հետքի։ Շատ դեպքեր ժամանակի ընթացքում բացահայտվել են, սակայն կան պատմություններ, որոնք տասնամյակներ անց էլ շարունակում են մնալ առեղծված։ Դրանց շուրջ ստեղծվել են բազմաթիվ վարկածներ, սակայն որևէ մեկը մինչ օրս վերջնականապես չի հաստատվել։ Past.am-ը ներկայացնում է աշխարհի ամենահայտնի և ամենաառեղծվածային անհետացումների մի քանիսը։

Առեղծվածային դեպքերից ամենահայտնիներից մեկը Ամելիա Էրհարթի անհետացումն է։ Ամերիկացի հայտնի օդաչուն 1937 թվականին փորձում էր ինքնաթիռով շրջել աշխարհը, սակայն Խաղաղ օվկիանոսի վրա նրա ինքնաթիռը կապից դուրս եկավ։ Չնայած տասնամյակներ շարունակ իրականացված որոնումներին՝ ո՛չ Էրհարթին, ո՛չ էլ ինքնաթիռը այդպես էլ չեն հայտնաբերել։

Մեկ այլ խորհրդավոր դեպք է բրիտանացի երեք փարոսապահների անհետացումը Շոտլանդիայի Ֆլաննան կղզիներում։ 1900 թվականին մատակարարող նավի անձնակազմը հասնելով կղզի՝ հայտնաբերել էր, որ փարոսը դատարկ է։ Երեք աշխատակիցներն անհետացել էին առանց որևէ հետքի, իսկ նրանց անձնական իրերը մնացել էին տեղում։ Մինչ օրս հայտնի չէ՝ ինչ է տեղի ունեցել նրանց հետ։

1959 թվականին Խորհրդային Միությունում տեղի ունեցած Դյատլովի լեռնանցքի ողբերգությունը ևս շարունակում է բազմաթիվ հարցեր առաջացնել։ Ինն արշավականներ մահացել կամ անհետացել էին խորհրդավոր հանգամանքներում։ Նրանց վրանը կտրված էր ներսից, իսկ զոհերի մի մասը հայտնաբերվել էր առանց համապատասխան հագուստի։ Դեպքի վերաբերյալ մինչ օրս գոյություն ունեն բազմաթիվ վարկածներ՝ ձնահյուսից մինչև անհայտ բնական երևույթներ։

Ամերիկացի դատավոր Ջոզեֆ Ֆորս Քրեյթերի անհետացումը ևս համարվում է 20-րդ դարի ամենահայտնի առեղծվածներից։ 1930 թվականին նա դուրս եկավ Նյու Յորքի ռեստորաններից մեկից և այլևս երբեք չվերադարձավ։ Չնայած լայնածավալ որոնումներին՝ նրա ճակատագիրը մինչ օրս անհայտ է։

Առեղծվածային անհետացումների շարքում հաճախ հիշատակվում է նաև «Մարիա Սելեստե» առագաստանավի պատմությունը։ 1872 թվականին նավը հայտնաբերվեց Ատլանտյան օվկիանոսում՝ ամբողջովին անվնաս, սակայն անձնակազմն անհետացել էր։ Նավի վրա մնացել էին նույնիսկ սնունդն ու անձնական իրերը, ինչը դեպքն ավելի խորհրդավոր դարձրեց։

Չնայած ժամանակակից տեխնոլոգիաների զարգացմանը, արբանյակային պատկերներին, ԴՆԹ հետազոտություններին և նորագույն որոնողական համակարգերին, այս պատմությունները դեռևս վերջնական պատասխան չեն ստացել։ Դրանք շարունակում են հետաքրքրել ինչպես հետաքննողներին, այնպես էլ միլիոնավոր մարդկանց ամբողջ աշխարհում՝ մնալով մարդկության ամենամեծ առեղծվածներից։
