Այսօր դժվար է պատկերացնել կյանքն առանց ինտերնետի։ Այն դարձել է ոչ միայն հաղորդակցության, այլև բանկային համակարգերի, առևտրի, առողջապահության, տրանսպորտի, պետական ծառայությունների և նույնիսկ էներգետիկ ենթակառուցվածքների կարևոր բաղադրիչը։ Բայց ի՞նչ կլինի, եթե հանկարծ ամբողջ աշխարհում ինտերնետն անջատվի մեկ ամսով։

Մասնագետների գնահատմամբ՝ առաջին ժամերին կխաթարվեն կապի բազմաթիվ ծառայություններ, կդժվարանան առցանց վճարումները, կդադարեն աշխատել բազմաթիվ հավելվածներ և հարթակներ, որոնցից մարդիկ օգտվում են ամեն օր։ Շատ ընկերություններ, որոնք ամբողջությամբ հիմնված են առցանց աշխատանքային գործընթացների վրա, ստիպված կլինեն ժամանակավորապես դադարեցնել գործունեությունը կամ անցնել աշխատանքի այլ եղանակների։

Առավել մեծ ազդեցությունը կարող է զգացվել ֆինանսական ոլորտում։ Թեև բանկերի հիմնական համակարգերը հաճախ ունեն պաշտպանված ներքին ցանցեր և պահուստային լուծումներ, միջազգային փոխանցումները, էլեկտրոնային առևտուրը և բազմաթիվ թվային ծառայություններ կարող են լուրջ խափանումների բախվել։ Առցանց գնումները, սննդի առաքման ծառայությունները և տոմսերի ամրագրումները նույնպես կսահմանափակվեն։

Մեծ մարտահրավերներ կարող են առաջանալ նաև կրթության և աշխատանքի ոլորտներում։ Հեռավար աշխատող միլիոնավոր մարդիկ և առցանց դասընթացներ անցկացնող ուսումնական հաստատությունները ստիպված կլինեն վերադառնալ ավանդական մեթոդների կամ ժամանակավորապես դադարեցնել գործունեությունը։

Սոցիալական ցանցերի բացակայությունը նույնպես կազդի մարդկանց վրա։ Շատերը կրկին կսկսեն ավելի հաճախ օգտվել հեռախոսազանգերից, SMS հաղորդագրություններից, հեռուստատեսությունից, ռադիոյից և տպագիր մամուլից։ Հնարավոր է՝ որոշ մարդկանց համար սա նույնիսկ դառնա թվային կախվածությունից ժամանակավոր «դադար», իսկ մյուսների համար՝ լուրջ հոգեբանական փորձություն։

Մասնագետները նշում են, որ համաշխարհային ինտերնետի լիակատար անջատումը չափազանց քիչ հավանական սցենար է։ Համաշխարհային ցանցը կազմված է հազարավոր անկախ ցանցերից, տվյալների կենտրոններից և ստորջրյա մալուխներից, ինչը նրան դարձնում է բավականին դիմացկուն։ Այնուամենայնիվ, կիբերհարձակումները, խոշոր տեխնիկական վթարները կամ բնական աղետները կարող են ժամանակավորապես խաթարել ինտերնետի աշխատանքը առանձին երկրներում կամ տարածաշրջաններում։
