Պորտուգալիայի ազգային հավաքականը պաշտոնապես հայտարարել է թիմի նոր գլխավոր մարզչի անունը։ Ազգային ընտրանին կգլխավորի Ժորժե Ժեսուսը, որը երկրի ֆուտբոլի ֆեդերացիայի հետ կնքել է աշխատանքային պայմանագիր՝ նախատեսված մինչև 2030 թվականը։
Ժեսուսի նախորդ աշխատավայրը Սաուդյան Արաբիան ներկայացնող «Ալ-Նասր» ակումբն էր, որի կազմում հանդես է գալիս Պորտուգալիայի հավաքականի ավագ Կրիշտիանու Ռոնալդուն։
Ազգային թիմի գլխավոր մարզչի պաշտոնում Ժեսուսը փոխարինել է Ռոբերտո Մարտինեսին։ Վերջինս լքել էր պաշտոնն այն բանից հետո, երբ աշխարհի 2026 թվականի առաջնության 1/8 եզրափակիչում պորտուգալացիները 0-1 հաշվով պարտություն կրեցին Իսպանիայի ընտրանուց և դուրս մնացին հետագա պայքարից։
Հիշեցնենք, որ ավելի վաղ 41-ամյա Ռոնալդուն հայտարարել էր, որ ավարտված Մունդիալը վերջինն էր իր կարիերայում։ Միևնույն ժամանակ, այս պահի դրությամբ դեռևս չկա հստակ և պաշտոնական տեղեկատվություն այն մասին, թե արդյոք Պորտուգալիայի հավաքականի ավագը կշարունակի հանդես գալ ազգային թիմում այլ մրցաշարերում։
