Լիբանանում առաջին «պիլոտային գոտին», որը պետք է դառնա ներկայումս իսրայելական ուժերի վերահսկողության տակ գտնվող տարածքների նկատմամբ վերահսկողության փոխանցման գործընթացի մաս, կգործարկվի «մի քանի օրվա ընթացքում», հաղորդում է CNN հեռուստաալիքը՝ հղում անելով ամերիկացի պաշտոնյային:
Ըստ նրա՝ լրացուցիչ գոտիներն արդեն ծրագրման փուլում են: ԱՄՆ Կենտրոնական հրամանատարությունը (CENTCOM) նախաձեռնության իրականացման համար համակարգում է գործողությունները երկու կողմի հետ:
Վաշինգտոնը մտադիր է նաև խորհրդակցություններ սկսել միջազգային գործընկերների հետ՝ Լիբանանի կառավարությանն օգնելու համար վերականգնել ինքնիշխանությունն այդ շրջաններում և ավելի լայն մասշտաբով:
Պաշտոնյան հայտնել է, որ հաջորդ շաբաթ Հռոմում նախատեսված բանակցությունները նվիրված են լինելու հարցերի փոխանցմանը համապատասխան տեխնիկական խմբերին։ Նրանք աշխատելու են 14 կետից բաղկացած շրջանակային համաձայնագրի իրականացման ուղղությամբ, որը ձեռք է բերվել հունիսի վերջին Վաշինգտոնում ԱՄՆ միջնորդությամբ Իսրայելի և Լիբանանի ներկայացուցիչների բանակցությունների վերջին փուլից հետո:
Լիբանանի նախագահ Ջոզեֆ Աունն ավելի վաղ հայտարարել էր, որ Իսրայելի հետ բանակցություններին Բեյրութի հետագա մասնակցությունը կախված է երկրի հարավի բռնազավթված համարվող շրջաններից իսրայելական զորքերի դուրսբերման մեկնարկից:
Միևնույն ժամանակ, Իսրայելի պաշտպանության նախարար Իսրայել Կացը դեմ է արտահայտվել Հարավային Լիբանանից զորքերի ամբողջական դուրսբերման գաղափարին: «Մենք ոչ մեկից թույլտվություն չենք խնդրել Լիբանան մտնելու համար, և մեզ թույլտվություն պետք չէ Լիբանանում մնալու համար»,- հայտարարել է նա:
