Աչքերը հաճախ անվանում են առողջության «հայելին», քանի որ որոշ հիվանդություններ, այդ թվում՝ քաղցկեղի առանձին տեսակներ, կարող են առաջին հերթին դրսևորվել հենց այնտեղ։ Մասնագետները նշում են, որ հատկապես կարևոր է ուշադրություն դարձնել աչքի սպիտակ հատվածի (սկլերայի) և աչքի ընդհանուր տեսքի փոփոխություններին։

Աչքի սպիտակ հատվածի դեղնավուն գունափոխությունը կարող է վկայել լյարդի կամ լեղուղիների խնդիրների մասին։ Որոշ դեպքերում դա կարող է կապված լինել նաև ենթաստամոքսային գեղձի, լյարդի կամ լեղուղիների քաղցկեղի հետ, երբ արյան մեջ բարձրանում է բիլիռուբինի մակարդակը և զարգանում է դեղնախտ։

Բացի դրանից, ըստ Past.am-ի բժշկական աղբյուրների անհանգստացնող ախտանիշներ կարող են լինել.

  • աչքի կամ կոպի վրա նոր գոյացության առաջացումը,
  • աչքի սպիտակ հատվածի վրա մուգ կամ արագ փոփոխվող բիծ,
  • աչքի մշտական կարմրությունը, որը չի անցնում,
  • տեսողության հանկարծակի վատթարացումը կամ մշուշոտ տեսողությունը,
  • կրկնակի տեսողությունը,
  • աչքի ցավը կամ ուռուցքը, որը երկար ժամանակ չի անցնում։

Այս նշանները ինքնին չեն նշանակում, որ մարդը քաղցկեղ ունի։ Դրանք կարող են պայմանավորված լինել բազմաթիվ այլ, ավելի տարածված և ոչ վտանգավոր հիվանդություններով։ Սակայն եթե նման փոփոխությունները պահպանվում են կամ աստիճանաբար ուժեղանում են, անհրաժեշտ է դիմել ակնաբույժի կամ համապատասխան մասնագետի՝ հետազոտություն անցնելու համար։

Բժիշկները հիշեցնում են, որ քաղցկեղի վաղ հայտնաբերումը զգալիորեն մեծացնում է բուժման արդյունավետությունը։ Այդ պատճառով կարևոր է չանտեսել օրգանիզմի տված ազդանշանները, այդ թվում՝ աչքերի սպիտակ հատվածի (սկլերայի) գույնի կամ տեսքի փոփոխությունները, և ժամանակին դիմել բժշկի։
