Մայամիի համալսարանի (ԱՄՆ) Sylvester ուռուցքաբանական կենտրոնի գիտնականները լայնածավալ վերլուծություն են անցկացրել մեզոթելիոմայի դինամիկայի վերաբերյալ, որը քաղցկեղի հազվագյուտ, բայց չափազանց ագրեսիվ տեսակ է և կապված է ասբեստի ազդեցության հետ: Հետազոտությունը հրապարակվել է JCO Global Oncology ամսագրում:
Մեզոթելիոման գերազանցապես առաջանում է ասբեստի հետ երկարատև շփման հետևանքով, որը նախկինում լայնորեն օգտագործվում էր նավաշինության, շինարարության և արդյունաբերության մեջ: Չնայած վերջին տասնամյակներին դրա օգտագործման նվազմանը՝ հիվանդությունը շարունակում է մնալ հանրային առողջապահական լուրջ խնդիր:
Հետազոտությունը ներառել է ԱՄՆ բոլոր 50 նահանգների տվյալները 1990-2023 թվականների համար և ներառել է հիվանդացության, մահացության և հաշմանդամության մակարդակի վերլուծություն:
Չնայած հիվանդացության և մահացության ստանդարտացված ցուցանիշները նվազել են մոտավորապես մեկ երրորդով, դեպքերի բացարձակ թիվը, ընդհակառակը, աճել է գրեթե 30 տոկոսով: Մահացությունների թիվը նույնպես աճել է, իսկ առողջության կորստի ընդհանուր մակարդակը աճել է մոտ 14 տոկոսով:
Գիտնականները նշել են, որ հարաբերական ցուցանիշների նվազումը չի նշանակում հիվանդության բեռի իրական նվազում. դա պայմանավորված է բնակչության աճով և ծերացմամբ:
Հատկապես արտահայտված տարբերություններ են նկատվում տղամարդկանց և կանանց միջև: Տղամարդկանց մոտ հիվանդացության և մահացության ցուցանիշները զգալիորեն նվազել են, ինչն արտացոլում է այն հանգամանքը, որ հեռացել են ասբեստի բարձր ազդեցության պայմաններում աշխատող սերունդները: Կանանց մոտ, հակառակը, անկումը թույլ է եղել կամ ընդհանրապես չի եղել, իսկ որոշ նահանգներում ցուցանիշները նույնիսկ աճել են:
Հեղինակները սա բացատրում են այն փաստով, որ կանայք հաճախ չէ, որ ակնհայտորեն շփվել են ասբեստի ազդեցության հետ. կարևոր դեր է խաղում ասբեստի հետ կենցաղային և երկրորդային շփումը, ինչպես նաև հին շենքերի, դպրոցների և ենթակառուցվածքների ազդեցությունը։
Աշխարհագրական վերլուծությունը ցույց է տվել, որ հիվանդությունների ամենաբարձր բեռը մնում է պատմականորեն արդյունաբերական գործունեություն ունեցող նահանգներում, ներառյալ նավաշինությունը, հանքարդյունաբերությունը և շինարարության մեջ ասբեստի օգտագործումը։
Եվս մեկ կարևոր եզրակացություն. չափազանց բարձր է հիվանդությունից մահացությունը։ Մահացության և ախտորոշման հարաբերակցությունը մնում է 1-ին մոտ, ինչը նշանակում է, որ մեզոթելիոմա ունեցող պացիենտների մեծ մասը մահանում է հիվանդությունից, և վերջին տասնամյակներում գոյատևման զգալի բարելավում չի եղել՝ չնայած բուժման առաջընթացին, ներառյալ իմունաթերապիան։
Հեղինակներն ընդգծել են, որ մահերի մոտավորապես 96 տոկոսը կապված է մնում ասբեստի մասնագիտական ազդեցության հետ, ինչը մեզոթելիոման դարձնում է գրեթե ամբողջությամբ կանխարգելելի հիվանդություն։
Հետազոտողները եզրակացնում են, որ հիվանդության ապագա բեռը նվազեցնելու համար անհրաժեշտ է երկու մոտեցում՝ շենքերում և ենթակառուցվածքներում մնացորդային ասբեստից ավելի մեծ հրաժարում և բուժման ավելի արդյունավետ մեթոդների մշակում։
