Հայաստանում ամենասիրված և ամենասպասված տոներից մեկի՝ Վարդավառի օրը այս տարի ևս մեծ հետաքրքրություն է առաջացրել։ Տոնը, որն առանձնանում է իր ուրախ և ջրառատ ավանդույթներով, ամեն տարի նշվում է տարբեր օրերի, քանի որ կապված է Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցու տոնացույցի հետ։

Այս տարի Վարդավառը կնշվի հուլիսի 12-ին։ Այդ օրը Հայաստանի տարբեր քաղաքներում և գյուղերում մարդիկ ավանդույթի համաձայն միմյանց վրա ջուր կլցնեն, կկազմակերպվեն տոնական միջոցառումներ, համերգներ և ժողովրդական հավաքներ։

Վարդավառը Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցու հինգ տաղավար տոներից մեկն է և պաշտոնապես կոչվում է Քրիստոսի Պայծառակերպության տոն։ Սակայն դարերի ընթացքում այն դարձել է նաև ժողովրդական ամենաուրախ ու ամենակոլորիտային տոներից մեկը։

Պատմաբանների խոսքով՝ Վարդավառի արմատները գալիս են դեռևս հեթանոսական ժամանակներից և կապվում են սիրո և ջրի աստվածուհի Աստղիկի հետ։ Ժողովուրդը միմյանց վրա ջուր լցնելու ավանդույթը պահպանել է մինչև այսօր, և այն դարձել է տոնի գլխավոր խորհրդանիշը։

Ամեն տարի Վարդավառի օրը հատկապես ակտիվ են լինում երեխաներն ու երիտասարդները, իսկ սոցիալական ցանցերը լցվում են տոնական լուսանկարներով ու տեսանյութերով։ Միևնույն ժամանակ վարորդներին և քաղաքացիներին կոչ է արվում զգույշ լինել ճանապարհներին և հարգել միմյանց, որպեսզի տոնը մնա միայն ուրախ հիշողություններով։
