Президент США Дональд Трамп заявил, что не допустит передачи запасов высокообогащенного иранского урана под контроль России или Китая. О

н также подчеркнул, что Вашингтон даже не обсуждает возможность предоставления Тегерану каких-либо финансовых послаблений до того, как Исламская республика полностью выполнит все американские требования.

Отвечая на вопрос о возможности вывоза иранского урана, обогащенного до околооружейного уровня, Трамп отрезал: «Нет, меня такой вариант не устраивает».

Ранее на этой неделе Трамп упоминал, что готов рассмотреть сценарий, при котором этот ядерный материал будет «уничтожен прямо на месте или в другом приемлемом локальном пункте», однако конкретных деталей или механизмов реализации этой идеи тогда не привел.

Глава Белого дома также дал понять, что не намерен ослаблять беспрецедентное экономическое давление на Иран, несмотря на то, что Тегеран называет этот пункт ключевым условием для подписания итогового соглашения.

«Мы сейчас вообще не говорим о каком-либо смягчении санкций или выдаче денег. Никаких отмен санкций, никаких денег, вообще ничего, — заявил президент. — Под нашим контролем находятся их денежные средства, которые они называют своими. И мы продолжим удерживать контроль над этими деньгами. Когда они начнут вести себя как надо и поступят правильно, мы вернем им их средства, но прямо сейчас мы этого делать не собираемся».
