Հոլիվուդյան դերասանուհի Անջելինա Ջոլին պատմել է, թե ինչպես է փոխվել իր կյանքը Կամբոջա մեկնելուց հետո։
Հիշեցնենք, որ 6 երեխաների մայր 40-ամյա Անջելինա Ջոլին նախկինում երբեք իրեն մոր դերում չի էլ պատկերացրել։ «Դա տարօրինակ է, բայց ես երբեք երեխա չեմ ցանկացել։ Երբեք չեմ ցանկացել հղի լինել, երեխաների խնամել։ Երբեք մտքովս չի էլ անցել, որ մայր կդառնամ»,- պատմել է նա։
Ներկայումս Ջոլին Կամբոջայում է, նկարահանվում է «Սկզբում նրանք սպանեցին իմ հորը՝ Կամբոջայի դստեր հիշողությունները» (First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers)։
Ջոլին խոստովանել է, որ երեխաներ ունենալու միտքը նրա մոտ առաջին անգամ առաջացել է «Լարա Կրոֆթ» ֆիլմի նկարահանումների ժամանակ, երբ նա երեխաների հետ խաղում էր Կամբոջայի դպրոցական երեխաների հետ։ «Ես հանկարծ հասկացա, որ իմ որդին գտնվում է այդ երկրում՝ ինչ-որ տեղ»,- բացատրել է նա։ 2002-ին աստղը որդեգրեց Մեդդոկսին՝ որդուն, հետո Կամբոջայում բարեգործական ֆոնդ բացեց։
Այսօր Մեդդոկսը 14 տարեկան է, նա արդեն օգնում է մորը իր ծրագրերում։ «Հիմա ես զգում եմ, որ ամեն ինչ ստացվել է այնպես, ինչպես ուզում էի»,- ասում է նա։ Ջոլին ներկայումս պատրաստվում է մինչեւ տարեվերջ անցկացնել Կամբոջայում։
«Երբ ես առաջին անգամ Կամբոջա եկա, այս երկիրն ինձ ամբողջովին փոխեց։ Ես այստեղ կյանքի մասին նոր բաներ սովորեցի»,- ասում է Ջոլին։
