Gazeta.ru-ի հրապարակած ռեպորտաժում նկարագրվում է, թե ինչպես է ապրում Մարիուպոլը ռուսական վերահսկողության տակ անցնելուց չորս տարի անց։ Լրատվամիջոցի թղթակիցը գրում է, որ քաղաքում միաժամանակ տեսանելի են ինչպես պատերազմի հետքերը, այնպես էլ լայնածավալ վերակառուցման աշխատանքները․ կառուցվում են նոր շենքեր, ճանապարհներ, դպրոցներ և խանութներ, սակայն քաղաքի մի շարք հատվածներում դեռ պահպանվել են ավերված տներ ու վնասված ենթակառուցվածքներ։

Ռեպորտաժի համաձայն՝ Մարիուպոլում շարունակում են գործել պարետային ժամն ու անվտանգության խիստ միջոցառումները։ Գիշերները քաղաքում լսվում են պայթյունների ձայներ, բնակիչները խոսում են անօդաչու սարքերի վտանգի մասին, իսկ փողոցներում հաճախ կարելի է հանդիպել զինվորականների և ռազմական տեխնիկայի։ Միաժամանակ քաղաքում աշխատում են սրճարաններ, շուկաներ և խանութներ, իսկ մարդիկ փորձում են վերադառնալ սովորական կյանքին՝ չնայած պատերազմի հետևանքներին։

Տեղացիները հիմնական խնդիրներից մեկը համարում են բնակարանի պակասն ու կոմունալ դժվարությունները։ Ռեպորտաժում նշվում է, որ ջրամատակարարումը որոշ շրջաններում կատարվում է գրաֆիկով, իսկ բնակիչների մի մասը դեռևս ապրում է վնասված շենքերում։ Այդուհանդերձ, շատերը նշում են, որ ցանկանում են պարզապես խաղաղ ապրել և քաղաքում տեսնել կյանքի վերադարձը։
