Իմաստության գիծը կիսվում է բութ մատի և ցուցամատի արանքից և գտնվում է սրտի ու կյանքի գծերի միջև։
Այն խորհրդանշում է մարդու սովորելու կարողությունը, հաղորդակցության ունակությունները, ինտելեկտը և սովորելու ձգտումները։ Կոր գիծն ասոցացվում է կրեատիվության ու ինքնաբուխության, մինչդեռ ուղիղ գիծը՝ գործնական ու նախապես ծրագրված վարքի հետ։

Սկզբի հատվածում՝ մինչև առանձնանալը, իմաստության գիծը կարող է հատվել կյանքի գծի հետ։ Սա նշանակում է, որ տվյալ մարդը ինքնամփոփ է, զգույշ և ուշադրություն է դարձնում մանրուքներին, սակայն եթե հատման հատվածը չափազանց մեծ է, ապա դա նշանակում է, որ տվյալ մարդն անվճռական ու անհանգիստ է։
Եթե գծերը մեկնարկում են մի կետից, սակայն գծով չեն հատվում, ապա տվյալ մարդը վճռական ու նպատակասլաց է և կարող է գլուխ հանել անսպասելի ու անհաստատ իրավիճակներից։
Եթե գծերը ոչ մի հատման կետ չունեն, ապա սա նշանակում է, որ անձը չափազանց քաջ, շփվող, անվախ ու համարձակ է։
