Հայաստանը վերջնականապես փչացնում է հարաբերությունները Բելառուսի հետ։ Եվրոպական քաղաքական համայնքի գագաթնաժողովին բելառուսական ընդդիմության առաջնորդ Սվետլանա Տիխանովսկայային հրավիրելը, տարբեր, այդ թվում՝ պետական ԶԼՄ-ներում նրա հարցազրույցները կազմակերպելը, նաև Երևանից հնչող հայտարարությունները, ըստ էության, չէին կարող անարձագանք մնալ պաշտոնական Մինսկի կողմից։ Երեկ Բելառուսի արտաքին գործերի նախարարությունը կանչել է Բելառուսում Հայաստանի գործերի ժամանակավոր հավատարմատար Արթուր Սարգսյանին և նրան հանձնել բողոքի նոտա՝ «ոչ բարեկամական քայլերի» կապակցությամբ։

Բելառուսական կողմի դժգոհության պատճառ են դարձել ՀՀ Ազգային ժողովի նախագահի վերջին հայտարարությունները, որտեղ նա նշել էր, որ Հայաստանը չպետք է «կառավարվի ինչպես Բելառուսը»։ Բելառուսի ԱԳՆ-ում այդ հայտարարությունները որակել են որպես «նախընտրական պոպուլիզմ» և փորձ՝ շեղելու ուշադրությունը ներքին խնդիրներից։ Բելառուսի արտաքին քաղաքական գերատեսչությունը նաև ընդգծել է, որ երկիրը ինքնուրույն է որոշում իր դաշնակցային հարաբերությունները Ռուսաստանի հետ և չի ընդունում արտաքին միջամտություն։ Ինքը՝ Սիմոնյանը ոչ միայն չի հերքել կամ խմբագրել իր խոսքերը, այլև արդեն այսօր կրկնել է դրանք։

«Ես կարծում եմ՝ Հայաստանի, ՀԱՊԿ-ում գործընկերոջ և ՀՀ պետականության նկատմամբ անհարգալից վերաբերմունքն է վատացնում հարաբերությունները. Ադրբեջանի հետ 44-օրյա պատերազմ նախապատրաստելն է վատացնում հարաբերությունները»,- ասել է նա։

ՀՀ Ազգային ժողովի նախագահը շեշտել է, որ քաղաքական կուրսն ամեն պետության ընտրության հարցն է. «ՀՀ-ի համար մարդու իրավունքներն ու ազատությունները կարևորագույն արժեքներ են, և ես կարծում եմ՝ ամեն պետություն իր օրինակն է ընտրում։ Մենք ընտրել ենք ՀՀ ժողովրդավարացման ճանապարհը»։

Երևանի և Մինսկի միջև հարաբերությունները զգալիորեն վատթարացել են 2024-ին Բելառուսի նախագահ Ալեքսանդր Լուկաշենկոյի Ադրբեջան կատարած այցից և Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում 44-օրյա պատերազմի վերաբերյալ նրա հայտարարություններից հետո։ Այդ ժամանակ վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը հայտարարել էր, որ քանի դեռ Լուկաշենկոն իշխանության գլուխ է, ոչ մի հայ պաշտոնյա չի այցելի Մինսկ։
