«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Հանրահայտ Chivas Regal վիսկիի պատմությունը սկսվել է 1836 թվականին, երբ եղբայրներ Ջեյս և Ջոն Չիվասները ժամանել են Աբերդին՝ Շոտլանդիայի ամենամեծ քաղաքներից մեկը։ Քաղաք ժամանելուն պես Ջոնն աշխատանք է ստացել գործվածքների պահեստում, որտեղ արագ բարձրացել է կարիերայի աստիճաններով։ Ջեյմսն իր հերթին աշխատանքի է անցել Ուիլ յամ Էդվարդի մթերային խանութում։ Հենց այնտեղ էլ Ջեյմսը հասկացել է, որ բիզնեսում հաջողության հիմնական բաղադրիչներն են գերազանց որակը, անթերի սպասարկումը և մատչելի գները։ Էդվարդի բիզնեսը հաջողվել է, և մի քանի տարի անց խանութը տեղափոխվել է նոր շենք՝ հեղինակավոր տարածքում, իսկ Ջեյմս Չիվասը դարձել է Էդվարդի լիիրավ գործընկերը։ Ի դեպ, հենց այդ շենքում էլ գտնվել է «Չիվաս» ընկերության գլխավոր գրասենյակը հաջորդ 120 տարիների ընթացքում։

1841 թվականին Էդվարդը մահացել է՝ մահից առաջ իր բիզնեսը փոխանցելով գործընկերոջը։ Որոշ ժամանակ անց Չիվասն ուներ նոր գործընկեր՝ Չարլզ Ստյուարտը, որի հետ նրանք սկսում են ալկոհոլային խմիչքների առևտուր անել և նույնիսկ արտադրել իրենց սեփական ապրանքանիշի խառը վիսկին՝ Royal Glen-ը: Այդ վիսկին արագ է տարածում գտել ամբողջ Մեծ Բրիտանիայում: Հենց հաջորդ տարի Չիվասի վիսկին պատվոգիր է ստացել անձամբ Վիկտորյա թագուհուց՝ Շոտլանդիա կատարած իր ճանապարհորդության ժամանակ։ Չնայած այն հանգամանքին, որ Չիվաս ընկերությունն արդեն համարվում էր վիսկիի լավագույն արտադրողներից մեկը, Ջեյմսը չէր պատրաստվում դրանով բավարարվել։ Նա սկսում է փորձեր՝ ստեղծելու նոր խառը վիսկի, որը հիմնված է լավագույն միաածիկ սպիրտի տեսակների վրա:

Այն բանից հետո, երբ Ջեյմս Չիվասը 1857 թվականին բաժանվել է Ստյուարտից, նրա բիզնեսը դարձել է ընտանեկան գործ՝ նրա եղբայր Ջոնն է միացել նրան: Ջեյմս Չիվասը մահացել է 1886 թվականին՝ բիզնեսը փոխանցելով իր որդուն՝ Ալեքսանդրին, որին սովորեցնում էր այն ամենը, ինչ գիտեր։ Հենց նա էլ շարունակել է հոր որոնումները։ Նրան ևս վիճակված չէր ավարտել հոր գործը, նա մահացել է 37 տարեկանում: Բայց նրա որոնումներն ավարտվել են նրա գործընկերներ Ալեքսանդր Սմիթի և Չարլզ Գովարադի կողմից: Նրանք էլ ստեղծել են Chivas Regal վիսկին։

Chivas վիսկիի արտադրությունը ծաղկում էր Սմիթի, Հովարդի և հետագա մենեջերների ղեկավարությամբ: Դրա վառ ապացույցն է այն փաստը, որ Chivas-ն Իռլանդիայում և Շոտլանդիայում վիսկի արտադրող այն սակավաթիվ արտադրողներից էր, որին հաջողվել էր փրկվել Առաջին համաշխարհային պատերազմի տնտեսական ճգնաժամից և ԱՄՆ-ում «Չոր օրենքի» ներդրումից:

Նույնիսկ Երկրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմի տարիներին է ընկերությանը հաջողվել մնալ ջրի երեսին վիսկիի մեծ պաշարների շնորհիվ: Այսօր Chivas Regal-ը որակի ստանդարտ է բոլոր խառը վիսկի արտադրողների համար:
