ՆԱՏՕ–ի անդամ երկրների կողմից մահվան դատապարտված Սիրիան տարածաշրջանում մեզ ամենամոտ և հարազատ պետություններից է։ Ժամանակին, երբ մեր բարեկամ Սիրիան Թուրքիայի կողմից ենթարկվեց հարձակման և ցեղասպանությունից մազապուրծ եղած հայությանը կրկին սպառնաց նույն վտանգը, բոլորս միասին օգնություն էինք կանչում, այնպես, ինչպես հարյուր տարի առաջ, կարծելով, որ որևէ եվրոպական քաղաքակիրթ երկիր կհասնի մեզ օգնության, կամ կընդվզի բռնությունների դեմ։

Ավաղ, ծեր Եվրոպան հենց ինքը ունի օգնության կարիք և Հռոմի Պապի` Կուբայում տեղի ունեցած հանդիպման ժամանակ հնչած ահազանգը դրա վկայությունն է։ Մի պահ թողնենք մի կողմ հոգևոր ճգնաժամի մեջ հայտնված երկրներին և փորձենք հասկանալ, թե որն է մեր ներքին ըմբոստության իրական պատճառը, երբ երկրի երեսից ոչնչացող հնագույն քաղաքակրթության մի մասնիկը իրեն ցուցաբերվող օգնության շնորհիվ նորից կենդանանում է և փորձում ոտքերի վրա կանգնել։ Ըմբոստություն, որը սկզբում կարծես թե անկեղծ էր, բայց հետո վերածվում է մի հրեշավոր շոուի։

Եթե սկզբնական ժամանակներում բոլորս դարձել էինք «save Kesab» և սոլիդարություն էինք ցուցաբերում, հանկարծ դարձանք «save NATO», «save Turkey», «save USA»… Օտար երկրների դեսպանատների ազդեցությունը մեր ներքին քաղաքականության վրա շատ թանկ է նստելու թե՛ մեր, թե՛ նրանց մարդ լինելու կոչման վրա։
