Կանադայում հաստատված սիրիահայերը այստեղ եկած փախստականների առաջին ալիքն են: Սակայն Տորոնտոյում հաստատված հայերն իրականում փախստական են դարձել երկրորդ անգամ: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին գրում է կանադական The Star պարբերականը՝ պատմելով, որ 100 տարի առաջ Հայոց ցեղասպանության հետևանքով շատ հայեր փախել էին Սիրիա:
Ստացվում է, որ սիրիական ճգնաժամի հետևանքով Կանադայում հաստատված հայերը Ցեղասպանությունից մազապուրծ եղած հայերի թոռներն ու ծոռներն են:«Մենք վերապրեցինք այն, ինչ մեր տատերն ու պապերը: Տեխնոլոգիան տարբեր է՝ նրանք հեռացել էին քայլելով, սակայն զգացումները նույնն են. մենք լքում ենք մեր նախնիների կյանքը»,- նշել է Տորոնտոյում հաստատված հայերից մեկը՝ Բեթի Փանոսյան Մինասյանը:
The Star-ը գրում է, որ 100 տարի առաջ շատ հայեր, հեռանալով հայրենի տներից, տան բանալիներն իրենց հետ վերցրեցին՝ մի օր այնտեղ վերադառնալու հույսով, և պահում ենք դրանք մինչ օրս: Կանադայում վերջերս հաստատված Մկրտիչ Փանոսյանը ևս իր տան բանալին թողել է հարևանի մոտ:
«Ես նրան ասացի՝ հուսով եմ, շուտ կվերադառնամ»,- պատմում է Մկրտիչը: Նա ընդգծում է, որ Հալեպը լքելու մասին որոշում են կայացրել՝ չունենալով այնտեղ կյանքի ապահովության երաշխիքներ: «Խնդիրը մեր երեխաների անվտանգությունն էր: 2013 թվականին Սուրբ ծնունդի ժամանակ ռումբ ընկավ մեր հարևանի պատշգամբի վրա: Հրաշք էր, որ այն մեզ չվնասեց»,- նշել է Մկրտիչ Փանոսյանը:
Նրա կինը՝ Ալինը, պատմել է, որ թեպետ դրանից հետո իրենք տեղափոխվել էին իր մոր տուն, սակայն այնտեղ ևս ապահով չէր:
«Մեր դուստրը սկսել էր մղձավանջներ տեսնել: Նա ասում էր. «Եթե վատ մարդիկ գան, դու քարեր ունե՞ս նրանց վրա նետելու և մեզ պաշտպանելու համար»: Սակայն քարերը ռումբերի և փամփուշտների դեմ պաշտպանության միջոց լինել չէին կարող լինել»,- փաստել է Ալինը:
Ընտանիքը Կանադա է իր հետ բերել լուսանկարներ, որոնք ճամպրուկի մեջ կշռել են 27 կիլոգրամ, ինչպես նաև անհրաժեշտ բոլոր գործիքները, որոնցով նոր հայրենիքում կկարողանան աշխատել և արարել:
