25 մլն դոլար Սամվել Կարապետյանի կողմից՝ Վեհարանի վերակառուցման և հանդիսությունների սրահի կառուցման համար
VIDEO25 մլն դոլար` Էջմիածնի կաթողիկոսական վեհարանի վերակառուցման և կից հանդիսությունների սրահի կառուցման համար։
1910 թվականին, Ալեքսանդր Մանթաշովի նվիրատվությամբ կառուցված կաթողիկոսական նստավայրի վերանորոգման մեկնարկը տրվեց մեկ դար անց՝ 2010 թվականին, ազգային բարերար Սամվել Կարապետյանի և Կարպետյան ընտանիքի շնորհիվ։
Մեծածավալ վերանորոգման աշխատանքները տևեցին 9 տարի։ 2019 թ. սեպտեմբերին տեղի ունեցավ հիմնանորոգված Վեհարանի, Հայրապետաց մատուռի և նորակառույց հանդիսությունների սրահի բացման հանդիսավոր արարողությունը։
Վեհարանը նվիրական է ոչ միայն որպես համայն հայության հոգևոր կենտրոնի գահանիստ։ Այստեղ են ապաստանել 1915 թվականի ցեղասպանությունից փրկված որբերն ու գաղթականները։ Այդ շրջանում այն ծառայել է նաև որպես զինվորական հիվանդանոց ու զինանոց:
Հայաստանում խորհրդային կարգերի հաստատումից հետո, բռնագրավվում է նաև Վեհարանը:
1957 թվականին Վազգեն առաջին կաթողիկոսին հաջողվում է շենքը վերադարձնել եկեղեցուն և բարեկարգել։ Այդ շրջանից հետո Վեհարանի շենքը չէր նորոգվել։
Սամվել Կարապետյանին, Հայոց Եկեղեցուն մատուցած բացառիկ ծառայությունների համար շնորհվում է «Սուրբ Էջմիածնի ասպետ» պատվո բարձրագույն շքանշանը: Ի հիշատակ այս իրադարձության, բարերարին հանձնվում է նաև Վեհարանի թանգարանում ցուցադրվող Ոսկե Խաչի մանրակերտը:
