Tesla-ի և SpaceX-ի հիմնադիր Իլոն Մասկը հայտարարել է, որ արդեն երեք տարի անց արհեստական բանականության (ԱԲ) մոդելների համար հաշվողական հզորությունները տիեզերքում տեղակայելն ավելի շահավետ կլինի, քան Երկրի վրա: «Ես իրոք կարծում եմ, որ տիեզերքում տեղակայված ԱԲ հզորությունների արժեքը շատ ավելի շուտ կդառնա ավելի էժան, քան Երկրի վրա գտնվող ԱԲ-ն, քան սպասում են մարդկանց մեծամասնությունը: Կարծում եմ, որ ընդամենը երկու-երեք տարի անց ԱԲ չիպերը տիեզերք ուղարկելն ավելի էժան կլինի, քան դրանք Երկրի վրա տեղադրելը, որովհետև տիեզերքում շատ մարտկոցներ պետք չեն, քանի որ այնտեղ միշտ արևոտ է»,— ասել է Մասկը։
Նա, մասնավորապես, նշել է, որ արևային վահանակները տիեզերքում աշխատում են առնվազն 5 անգամ ավելի արդյունավետ, քան Երկրի մակերևույթին: Դա տեղի է ունենում այն պատճառով, որ արևի լույսը չի կորցնում էներգիան մթնոլորտի միջով անցնելիս, ինչպես նաև բացակայում են գիշերային ժամանակը, օրվա ու գիշերվա հերթափոխը և լուսավորվածության սեզոնային տատանումները:
Բացի այդ, նա ընդգծել է. ժամանակի ընթացքում Երկրի վրա էլեկտրաէներգիայի արտադրության ավելացումն ավելի ու ավելի դժվար և թանկ կլինի, մինչդեռ տիեզերքում հզորությունների մեծացումը, ընդհակառակը, կդառնա ավելի պարզ և էժան: Մարտի 22-ին Tesla-ն ներկայացրեց Terafab-ը՝ համագործակցելով SpaceX-ի և xAI-ի հետ՝ միկրոսխեմաների արտադրության աշխարհում խոշորագույն գործարանի կառուցման համար, որի արտադրվող չիպերի տարեկան թիրախային հաշվողական հզորությունը կկազմի 1 տերավատտ:
