Միացյալ Նահանգները Իրանին է ուղարկել 15 կետից բաղկացած ծրագիր՝ Մերձավոր Արևելքում պատերազմն ավարտելու համար: Այս մասին գրում է The New York Times-ը՝ հաղում անելով դիվանագիտական անցուդարձին տեղյակ երկու պաշտոնյաների:
Այս ծրագիրն արտացոլում է ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի վարչակազմի ձգտումը՝ գտնել հակամարտությունից դուրս գալու ուղի՝ պատերազմի տնտեսական հետևանքների դեմ պայքարի համատեքստում, նշվում է հոդվածում։
Ծրագիրը վերաբերում է Իրանի բալիստիկ հրթիռներին և միջուկային ծրագրերին, ինչպես նաև ծովային երթուղիներին։
Իրանը հայտարարել էր Հորմուզի նեղուցում առևտրի դադարեցման մասին այն բանից հետո, երբ երկրի դեմ սկսվեց ԱՄՆ-ի և Իսրայելի ռազմական գործողությունը։ Հորմուզի նեղուցի շրջափակումը հանգեցրել է էներգակիրների գների կտրուկ աճի։
