Ֆուտբոլի միջազգային ֆեդերացիան (ՖԻՖԱ) հաստատել է, որ մշտական կապի մեջ է Իրանի ֆուտբոլի ֆեդերացիայի հետ և պատասխանել է ԱԱ-2026-ի խաղերը ԱՄՆ-ից Մեքսիկա տեղափոխելու հնարավորության վերաբերյալ հարցին։
Ավելի վաղ նման բանակցությունների առկայության մասին հայտնել էր Իրանի ֆուտբոլի ֆեդերացիայի նախագահ Մեհդի Թաջը։
«ՖԻՖԱ-ն մշտական կապի մեջ է բոլոր անդամ ասոցիացիաների, այդ թվում՝ Իրանի հետ՝ քննարկելու աշխարհի 2026 թվականի առաջնության պլանավորման հետ կապված հարցերը։ ՖԻՖԱ-ն ակնկալում է, որ բոլոր մասնակից հավաքականները կմրցեն 2025 թվականի դեկտեմբերի 6-ին հայտարարված պաշտոնական խաղացանկի համաձայն»,— The Athletic-ի հետ զրույցում նշել է կառույցի ներկայացուցիչը։
Հիշեցնենք, որ Իրանի հավաքականն ասիական գոտու ընտրական փուլի արդյունքում ընդգրկվել է G խմբում, որտեղ նրա մրցակիցներն են Բելգիան, Եգիպտոսը և Նոր Զելանդիան։
Ըստ գործող ժամանակացույցի՝ Իրանի ընտրանին Նոր Զելանդիայի և Բելգիայի դեմ հանդիպումները պետք է անցկացնի Լոս Անջելեսում, իսկ Եգիպտոսի դեմ խաղը՝ Սիեթլում։
