Քենիայում վերջին շաբաթվա ընթացքում առնվազն 62 մարդ է զոհվել այն բանից հետո, երբ հորդառատ անձրևները զանգվածային հեղեղումների պատճառ են դարձել. հայտնում է BBC News-ը՝ հղում անելով տեղական իշխանություններին:
Անցյալ շաբաթվա հորդառատ անձրևները անսպասելի հեղեղումներ են առաջացրել: Գետերը դուրս են եկել ափերից՝ ողողելով տներն ու վնասելով ճանապարհները, էլեկտրահաղորդման և ջրամատակարարման գծերը: Նայրոբիում կամուրջների վնասման պատճառով որոշ ճանապարհներ փակ են, իսկ շաբաթ օրվա տեղատարափից հետո ջրի տակ են անցել նաև որոշ դպրոցներ:
Քենիայի ներքին գործերի նախարարությունը կիրակի զգուշացրել է, որ երկրի տարբեր հատվածներում հորդառատ անձրևները շարունակվում են, ինչը մեծացնում է հեղեղումների ռիսկը:
Իշխանությունները ցածրադիր շրջանների բնակիչներին հորդորել են տեղափոխվել ավելի ապահով վայրեր. ավելի քան 2000 մարդ ստիպված է եղել լքել տները՝ ապաստան գտնելու համար:
Ոստիկանությունը հայտնում է, որ որոնողափրկարարական աշխատանքները շարունակվում են «հորդառատ անձրևներից և դրան հաջորդած ավերիչ հեղեղումներից հետո, որոնք պատուհասել են երկրի տարբեր շրջանների»:
