Երեկ՝ փետրվարի 14-ին, տոնական օր էր բոլոր սիրահարների համար, բացի 22-ամյա Սքոթ Ռայլիի։ Նախօրեին ավտովթարի էր ենթարկվել նրա ընկերուհին՝ 22-ամյա Դարսի Հոփվուդը։
Հաջորդ օրն առավոտյան, երբ բոլոր սիրահար զույգերը պատրաստվում էին հանդիպման, ավստրալացի Ռայլին ստանում է այդ գույժը։ Լուրից ցնցված տղան հրապարակում է իր եւ Դարսիի համատեղ լուսանկարներից եւ հուզիչ գրառում կատարում Facebook-ում։
«Ձեր սիրելիների հետ վարվեք թագավորների եւ թագուհիների նման։ Արեք դա հանուն ինձ, քանի որ ես այլեւս չեմ կարողանա։ Առավոտյան, երբ ես պլանավորում էի, թե ինչպես եմ օրս անցկացնելու իմ կյանքի ուղեկցի հետ, ինձ զանգեցին եւ ասացին, որ այլեւս երբեք չեմ տեսնի այդ հիանալի աղջկան։ ԵՐԲԵՔ։ Քանի որ նրան հեռացրին ինձնից, եւ այժմ նա Աստծո մոտ է։
Ես չէի կարող պատկերացնել, որ նման բան կպատահի։ 10 օրից մենք մտադիր էիք տեղափոխվել Եվրոպա, եւ ես ցանկանում էի ամուսնության առաջարկ անել։ Մենք ծրագրել էիք մեր համատեղ կյանքը՝ գեղեցիկ ակնթարթներով լի։ Իսկ այսօր ես միայնակ եմ անցկացնելու Վալենտինի օրը։ Որքան կցանկանայի ես մեկ գիշեր փարվել նրան եւ ասել, որ նա շատ ապահով է իմ գրկում։
