Մասնագետը նաև նշեց արյան մեջ շաքարի մակարդակը կարգավորելու համար օպտիմալ ֆիզիկական ակտիվությունը։ Սա շաբաթական 2-3 անգամ ուժային մարզումների և աէրոբիկ վարժությունների (քայլքից, լողից մինչև հեծանվավազք) համադրություն է։
Բժիշկը բացատրեց, որ ամենաուժեղ գործոններից մեկը քաշի կորուստն է։ Սկզբնական քաշի ընդամենը 5-10%-ի չափով քաշի կորուստը հանգեցնում է ինսուլինի նկատմամբ զգայունության բարելավմանը, արյան մեջ շաքարի մակարդակի զգալի նվազմանը և միաժամանակ խոլեստերինի մակարդակի նվազմանը։
Նաև նշվում է, որ շաքարային ըմպելիքներից հրաժարվելը մի քանի շաբաթվա ընթացքում արագ և նկատելի արդյունքներ է տալիս, ըստ բժիշկ Պիտերի:
