Միջազգային հանրապետական ինստիտուտի օրերս հրապարակած հարցումը չափազանց մտահոգիչ կարելի է համարել հայաստանյան արևմտամետների համար։ Հարցին, թե որ երկրներն են Հայաստանի Հանրապետության համար առավել կարևոր գործընկեր, հարցվածների մեծամասնությունը՝ 43 տոկոսը, պատասխանել է՝ Ռուսաստանը։ Երկրորդ տեղում ԱՄՆ-ն է՝ 42 տոկոսով, 3-րդը՝ Իրանը՝ 34 տոկոսով։

Եվրամիությունը և Ֆրանսիան ստացել են ընդամենը 29 տոկոս, Չինաստանը՝ 21, Վրաստանը՝ 18, իսկ Հնդկաստանը՝ 4 տոկոս։ Մեկ այլ հարցի՝ եթե առաջիկա կիրակի անցկացվեր Եվրոպական միությանը Հայաստանի անդամակցության հանրաքվեն, ինչպե՞ս կքվեարկեք, հարցվածների 51 տոկոսն է դրական պատասխան տվել։ 13 տոկոսը կտրուկ դեմ է արտահայտվել, 32 տոկոսն էլ նշել է, որ չի քվեարկի կամ չի մասնակցի, և միայն 4 տոկոսն է, որ հրաժարվել է պատասխանել։

Հարցման այս արդյունքները բավական մտահոգիչ պետք է լինեն արևմտամետների համար, որոնք փորձում են համոզել, թե հասարակության մեծամասնությունը ցանկանում է սլանալ դեպի Եվրամիություն։ Բնականաբար, 51 տոկոսը քիչ չէ, բայց այն ցանկալի արդյունքը չէ, որը կուզենային տեսնել արևմտամետները, առավել ևս, որ նման հարցումներով 2-3 տոկոս սխալվելու ընտրանքը հնարավոր է։ Իսկ արտաքին քաղաքական ոլորտում նման կտրուկ շրջադարձի համար բավականին ավելի բարձր տոկոսներ են անհրաժեշտ։

Ընդ որում, թեպետ վերջին մի քանի ամսում՝ հունիսից հետո ԵՄ-ին անդամակցելու ցանկություն հայտնողները 2 տոկոսով աճել են, բայց իրավիճակը բոլորովին էլ արևմտամետների օգտին չէ։ Ընդհանրապես, Հայաստանում արևմտամետությունը վերջին շրջանում, թեև խրախուսվում է գործող իշխանությունների և նրանց սպասարկու ուժերի կողմից, բայց ակնհայտորեն արհեստականորեն ներմուծվող օրակարգ է, որը ավելի շուտ հակառուսական ալիք բարձրացնելու նպատակ է հետապնդում, այլ ոչ թե իրական հիմքեր ունի։
