Ալեքսանդր Թամանյանի անվան ճարտարապետության թանգարան-ինստիտուտի ցուցասրահում բացվեց վաստակավոր ճարտարապետ Մարտին Միքայելյանի 100-ամյակին նվիրված ցուցահանդես «Ես 100 տարեկան եմ և այսօր էլ հաշվետու եմ» խորագրով։
Ցուցահանդեսի համակարգող, ճարտարապետ Կարեն Բալյանի խոսքով, ով, ի դեպ Մարտին Միքայելյանի սանն է, պատահական չեն ընտրել խորագիրը։ «Երբ մենք հավաքվեցինք Մարտին Միքայելյանի ավագ որդու՝ ճարտարապետ Ավետ Միքայելյանի տանը և մտածում էինք, թե ինչպես պետք է կազմակերպենք ցուցադրությունը, հասկացանք, որ հիմնական նյութը, որ պահպանվել է, վարպետի արած լուսանկարներն են։ Այո, այդքան շռայլ ժառանգություն թողած ճարտարապետներից քչերն են անձնական արխիվներ հավաքել, ավաղ։ Եվ որոշվեց, որ վարպետն ինքը իր լուսանկարներով հաշվետու կլինի։ Հաշվետու կլինի որպես վաստակաշատ ճարտարապետ, մանկավարժ, բազմաթիվ հոդվածների հեղինակ, որոնցում ամփոփել է իր ճարտարապետական հայացքները։ Նաև իր վրձնած գեղանկարներով և պոետիկ բանաստեղծություններով»,- ասաց պարոն Բալյանն ու հավելեց, որ շատ հուզիչ է, երբ ուսուցչիդ կարող ես տարիներ անց ինչ-որ չափով վերադարձնել քո շնորհակալական վերաբերմունքը։
Մարտին Միքայելյանի առաջին նախագիծը հայրական ընտանիքի առանձնատունն էր, Ալիխանյանի փողոցում, որն արվեց որպես կուրսային աշխատանք։
«Հայրս, այն հազվագյուտ ճարտարապետներից էր, ում համարյա բոլոր նախագծերով շենքեր են կառուցվել»,-նշում է Մարտին Միքայելյանի կրտսեր որդին՝ Բյուրականի աստղադիտարանի տնօրեն Արեգ Միքայելյանը։
Մարտին Միքայելյանի կառույցների աշխարհագրությունը ևս յուրատեսակ ցուցանիշ է։ Հարյուրից ավելի կառույց, որոնք գտնվում են Հայաստանի երեսուն բնակավայրերում՝ առողջարաններ, մասնավորապես Հանքավանում, Ջերմուկում, մշակույթի տներ, բնակելի շենքեր։ Նախագծել է նաև Մեծամոր և Հրազդան քաղաքների գլխավոր հատակագծերը։
