«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.
amnesty.org–ը «Ռուբեն Վարդանյանի 20 տարվա ազատազրկման դատավճիռը էթնիկ հայ առաջնորդների դեմ ուղղված «դատական ֆարսի» գագաթնակետն է» վերնագրով հոդվածում գրում է, որ մեկնաբանելով Ռուբեն Վարդանյանի 20 տարվա ազատազրկման դատավճիռը, ինչը 17 էթնիկ հայերից վեր ջ ի նի դա տավ ճ ի ռ ն է , A m n e s t y International-ի Արևել յան Եվրոպայի և Կենտրոնական Ասիայի տնօրեն Մարի Ստրութերսը նշել է. «17 մեղադրյալների դատավճիռները, որի գագաթնակետը Ռուբեն Վարդանյանի դատավճիռն է, ոչ այլ ինչ է, քան դատական ֆարս։ Այն փաստը, որ Ռուբեն Վարդանյանն այլ քաղաքացիական անձանց հետ միասին դատվել է ռազմական դատարանում, լուրջ մտահոգություններ է առաջացնում և անհամատեղելի է արդար դատավարության երաշխիքների հետ։ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի երկարատև հակամարտության զոհերը՝ թե՛ Հայաստանում, թե՛ Ադրբեջանում, արժանի են ճշմարտության բացահայտման, արդարադատության, փոխհատուցման և չկրկնվելու երաշխիքների, բայց այս դատավճիռները, միջազգային իրավունքի համաձայն, վիրավորանք են հանցագործությունների բոլոր զոհերի համար»։
«Բազմաթիվ, չափազանց լուրջ հանցագործությունների մեջ մեղադրվող Ռուբեն Վարդանյանը և նրա համախոհները դատվել են գործնականում դռնփակ՝ հիմնվելով «ինչոր ապացույցների» վրա, որոնք ներկայացվել են նրանց համար անհասկանալի լեզվով, և որոնք պատշաճ կերպով չեն թարգմանվել։ Դատավարության ընթացքում անգամ ամբողջությամբ չեն բացահայտվել մեղադրանքները, օրինակ՝ հենց թեկուզ Վարդանյանի դեմ առաջադրված ավելի քան 40 մեղադրանքները, այդ թվում՝ «ահաբեկչություն» և «մարդկության դեմ հանցագործությունների» մասով։ «Amnesty International»-ը Ադրբեջանի իշխանություններից տեղեկություն է խնդրել դատավարության և հավաքված ապացույցների մասին, սակայն որևէ պատասխան չի ստացել», - նշել է նա։
«Ադրբեջանը պետք է կատարի իր պարտավորությունները մարդու իրավունքների շրջանակներում և ապահովի, որ հանցագործությունների մեջ մեղադրվող բոլոր անձինք պատասխանատվության ենթարկվեն միջազգային իրավունքի և արդար դատավարության չափանիշներին լիովին համապատասխան», - ընդգծել է Մարի Ստրութերսը։
Հիշեցնենք, որ Amnesty International-ը մտահոգություն է հայտնել Ադրբեջանում արդար դատավարության իրավունքի վերաբերյալ՝ հղում անելով վատ վերաբերմունքի, կեղծված գործի նյութերը ստորագրելու հարկադրանքի և պաշտպանությունը պատրաստելու համար բավարար ժամանակ չտրամադրելու մասին հաղորդագրություններին, և կոչ է արել հետաքննություն սկսել այդ խախտումների վերաբերյալ
