Մինչ ԱՄՆ–Իրան հարաբերությունները հասնում են եռման կետին, կողմերն էլ բացահայտ սպառնում են իրար, ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Սուրեն Պապիկյանը նախօրեին մեկնել է Թեհրան, հանդիպումներ ունեցել բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյաների հետ։ Ըստ ՊՆ տարածած հաղորդագրությունների՝ Հայաստանի պաշտպանության նախարարն հանդիպել է Իրանի զինված ուժերի գլխավոր շտաբի պետ, գեներալ-մայոր Աբդոլրահիմ Մուսավիի, ԻԻՀ պաշտպանության և զինված ուժերի աջակցման նախարար, բրիգադի գեներալ Ազիզ Նասիրզադեի, ԻԻՀ ազգային անվտանգության գերագույն խորհրդի քարտուղար Ալի Լարիջանիի հետ։

Մի հանդիպում էլ եղել է Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետության նախագահ Մասուդ Փեզեշքիանի հետ։ Պաշտոնական հաղորդագրությունները սեղմ են, շատ մանրամասներ, բնականաբար, չեն հաղորդում։ Բայց ակնհայտ է, որ Իրանը խիստ վերապահումներ ունի ՀՀ իշխանությունների նկատմամբ, հատկապես՝ օգոստոսի 8-ի հռչակագրից, ԱՄՆ-ին տարածաշրջան բերելուց և TRIPP նախագիծ ստեղծելուց հետո։

Պապիկյանն էլ մեկնել է Թեհրան՝ տեղում հայկական կողմի հավաստիացումները ներկայացնելու, հայ-իրանական հարաբերություններում խութերը հարթելու համար։ Ի դեպ, Իրանի պաշտպանության և զինված ուժերի աջակցման նախարար, բրիգադի գեներալ Ազիզ Նասիրզադեի հետ հանդիպման ժամանակ իրանցի պաշտոնյան կոշտ է արտահայտվել ԱՄՆ-ի հասցեին՝ սպառնալով հարվածել ամերիկյան զորքերին Մերձավոր Արևելքում։ Փաստացի, Նասիրզադեն այդ կերպ փորձել է ըմբռնել հայկական կողմի արձագանքը։

Բարեբախտաբար, ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարը քաղաքական այդ ծուղակին տուրք չի տվել։ Ամեն դեպքում, հայկական կողմը առիթ ունի պարբերաբար Իրանին հավաստիացնելու, որ իր քաղաքականությունը Թեհրանի դեմ չէ։ Հակառակ պարագայում հարավում էլ նոր ու հզոր թշնամի ստանալը գոյաբանական սպառնալիք կդառնա։
