ԱՄՆ նախագահի հատուկ դեսպանորդ Սթիվ Ուիթքոֆը հայտարարել է, որ բանակցությունները կարող են տեղի ունենալ երեք շաբաթվա ընթացքում, որոնք կհարթեն Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինի, ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի և Վլադիմիր Զելենսկու եռակողմ հանդիպման ճանապարհը։ Այս մասին գրում է РИА Новости-ն։
«Ջարեդը Քուշները և ես հույս ունենք երկու կողմերին ներկայացնել որոշ առաջարկներ, որոնք կհամախմբեն նրանց՝ հաջորդ երեք շաբաթվա ընթացքում և, հնարավոր է, նույնիսկ կհանգեցնեն Զելենսկու և նախագահ Պուտինի հանդիպմանը, հնարավոր է՝ որոշ պահի՝ նախագահի հետ եռակողմ հանդիպման։ Կտեսնենք», - ասել է Ուիթքոֆը Լարա Թրամփի հետ Fox News-ին տված հարցազրույցում։
Ըստ նրա՝ Թրամփը չէր մասնակցի եռակողմ հանդիպմանը, եթե վստահ չլիներ, որ այն կհանգեցնի համաձայնության և «լավագույն արդյունքի»։
Ռուսաստանի, ԱՄՆ-ի և Ուկրաինայի միջև բանակցությունները տեղի են ունեցել Ժնևում փետրվարի 17-18-ին։ Բանակցություններին ռուսական պատվիրակությունը գլխավորում էր Ռուսաստանի նախագահի օգնական Վլադիմիր Մեդինսկին։ Բանակցությունների երկրորդ օրվանից հետո նա նշեց, որ քննարկումները «կոշտ էին, բայց գործնական»։ Մեդինսկին նաև հայտարարել է, որ մոտ ապագայում նոր հանդիպում է սպասվում։
