Տավուշի մարզի անտառապատ լեռների խորքում թաքնված Հաղարծին վանական համալիրը Հայաստանի ամենախորհրդավոր և միաժամանակ ամենակատարյալ միջնադարյան ճարտարապետական հուշարձաններից է։ Սակայն այս վայրը միայն գեղեցկությամբ չէ, որ զարմացնում է․ դրա պատմության մեջ կան փաստեր, որոնք հաճախ մնում են ստվերում։

Վանքը մեկ դարում չէ կառուցվել

Շատերը կարծում են, թե Հաղարծինը մեկ ժամանակաշրջանի ստեղծագործություն է, սակայն իրականում վանական համալիրը ձևավորվել է 10–13-րդ դարերի ընթացքում։ Տարբեր ժամանակներում կառուցված եկեղեցիներն ու գավիթը կրում են տարբեր ճարտարապետական մոտեցումներ, ինչն էլ համալիրին տալիս է յուրահատուկ ամբողջականություն։

Միջնադարյան «գիտակրթական կենտրոն»

Հաղարծինը եղել է ոչ միայն աղոթավայր, այլև գիտակրթական կենտրոն։ Այստեղ գործել են ձեռագրատուն և դպրոց, որտեղ ուսումնասիրվել են աստվածաբանություն, փիլիսոփայություն և գրչարվեստ։ Վանքը ժամանակին համարվել է հոգևոր էլիտայի ձևավորման վայր։

Թաքնված դամբարաններ

Հաղարծինում թաղված են ոչ միայն հոգևորականներ, այլև իշխանական տոհմերի ներկայացուցիչներ։ Որոշ դամբարանների պատկանելիությունը մինչ օրս վերջնականորեն պարզված չէ, ինչը վանքը դարձնում է պատմական գաղտնիքների կենտրոն։

Վերականգնումը՝ անսպասելի հովանավորով

Քչերը գիտեն, որ Հաղարծին վանական համալիրը վերականգնվել է նաև արտասահմանյան հովանավորության շնորհիվ։ 21-րդ դարում իրականացված լայնածավալ վերանորոգման աշխատանքները վանքին վերադարձրել են նրա երբեմնի փառքը՝ պահպանելով միջնադարյան ոճը։

Անվան շուրջ առեղծվածներ

«Հաղարծին» անվան ծագման շուրջ կան տարբեր վարկածներ։ Մեկի համաձայն՝ այն կապվում է «արծիվ» բառի հետ, մյուսի համաձայն՝ հին տեղանուն է, որի իրական նշանակությունը կորել է դարերի ընթացքում։

Վայրը պատահական չէ ընտրվել

Վանքը կառուցվել է խիտ անտառների և լեռների մեջ՝ բնական պաշտպանված դիրքում։ Միջնադարում սա կարևոր ռազմավարական առավելություն էր, իսկ այսօր՝ խաղաղության ու առանձնացման խորհրդանիշ։

Հաղարծինը պարզապես վանք չէ․ այն պատմության, հավատքի ու գաղտնիքների համադրություն է, որը յուրաքանչյուր այցելության ժամանակ բացահայտվում է նոր կողմերով։
