Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը աշխատանքային այցով մեկնել է Միացյալ Նահանգներ։ Կառավարության լրատվական վարչության փոխանցմամբ՝ փետրվարի 19-ին Վաշինգտոնում վարչապետը կմասնակցի «Խաղաղության խորհրդի» անդրանիկ նիստին։ Անցյալ ամիս Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի ղեկավարները ընդունել էին նախաձեռնությանը միանալու առաջարկությունը և Դավոսի տնտեսական ֆորումի շրջանակում ներկա են գտնվել կանոնադրության ստորագրության պաշտոնական արարողությանը։ Ի սկզբանե հայտարարվել էր, որ այս նախաձեռնությունը Գազայի վերականգնումն է վերահսկելու, այժմ, սակայն, Թրամփն ավելի մեծ խնդիրներ է դրել խորհրդի առջև՝ հայտարարելով, թե այն պետք է լուծի գլոբալ հակամարտությունները։

Ավելին, բազմաթիվ փորձագետներ և միջազգային լրատվամիջոցներ կարծում են, որ Թրամփն այս նախաձեռնությամբ ցանկանում է կազմաքանդել Միավորված ազգերի կազմակերպությունը և ստեղծված նոր աշխարհակարգի պայմաններում իրեն հավատարիմ ու Միացյալ Նահանգների շահերից գործող կառույց ստեղծել։ Զուր չէ, որ եվրոպական բազմաթիվ պետություններ պարզապես հրաժարվել են մասնակցել «Խաղաղության խորհրդին»։ Նույնիսկ Վատիկանն է հայտարարել, որ մտադիր չէ մասնակցել, թեպետ Իտալիան ցանկություն է հայտնել մասնակցել որպես դիտորդ, այսինքն՝ առայժմ պատասխանատվություն չստանձնել։

Այս կառույցի անդամ, բնականաբար, չեն դարձել և չեն էլ դառնա Չինաստանը, Իրանը, Ռուսաստանը՝ հստակ հասկանալով, որ այդ «Խաղաղության խորհուրդն» առաջին հերթին ուղղված է հենց իրենց դեմ, ուստի և Հայաստանի ու Ադրբեջանի ղեկավարների այս ինքնամոռաց մասնակցությունը Թրամփի հերթական վտանգավոր նախաձեռնությանը աշխարհաքաղաքական և տարածաշրջանային լուրջ հետևանքներ է ունենալու։ Ինչ-որ պահի թե՛ Հայաստանին, և թե՛ Ադրբեջանին կանգնեցնելու են փաստի առաջ, ուստի անդամակցելուց առաջ հարկավոր էր ավելի լավ մտածել։
