Ահաբեկիչները հարձակվել են Նիգերիայի արևմուտքում գտնվող երեք գյուղերի վրա՝ սպանելով 32 տեղացի բնակիչների։ Այս մասին հայտնել է Arise TV-ն՝ հղում անելով ոստիկանության խոսնակ Վասիու Աբիոդունին։

Ողբերգությունը տեղի է ունեցել երեկ երեկոյան Նիգեր նահանգի Տուգան Մակերի, Կոնսոկո և Պիսա գյուղերում։ Զոհերի ճշգրիտ թիվը դեռևս պարզված չէ, ինչպես նաև անհայտ վայր տարված պատանդների թիվը։

Հեռուստաալիքը նշում է, որ հանցագործությունների օրինաչափությունը հիշեցնում է «Բոկո Հարամ» ծայրահեղական խմբավորման հարձակումները։

Փետրվարի 11-ին Նիգերիայի զինված ուժերը հայտարարեցին «Բոկո Հարամ» խմբավորման դեմ հարձակման մեկնարկի մասին, որը պատասխանատու է բազմաթիվ ահաբեկչական հարձակումների, այդ թվում՝ առևանգումների համար։

Խմբավորումը ի հայտ է եկել 2002 թվականին Նիգերիայի Բորնո նահանգում՝ Նիգերիայում իշխանությունը զավթելու նպատակով։ 2009 թվականից ի վեր կազմակերպությունը զբաղվում է ակտիվ ահաբեկչական գործունեությամբ։ 2015 թվականին Նիգերիայի զինված ուժերը խոշոր պարտություն կրեցին «Բոկո Հարամ»-ից և զգալիորեն կրճատեցին իրենց վերահսկողության տակ գտնվող տարածքը։ Գրոհայինները սկսեցին բազաներ հիմնել Նիգերիայի սահմանակից երկրներում, հիմնականում՝ Չադ լճի շրջանում։
