ԱՄՆ փոխնախագահ Ջեյմս Դեյվիդ Վենսն այսօր՝ փետրվարի 10-ին, Բաքու կատարած պաշտոնական այցի ժամանակ հայտարարել է ԱՄՆ-ի և Ադրբեջանի միջև ռազմավարական համաձայնագրի ստորագրման մասին։
Ըստ ադրբեջանական լրատվամիջոցների՝ փաստաթուղթը կոչվում է «Ռազմավարական գործընկերության խարտիա»։
«Մենք ռազմավարական գործընկերության համաձայնագիր ենք ստորագրել, որը, կարծում եմ, կպաշտոնականացնի այս գործընկերությունը և կհստակեցնի, որ ԱՄՆ-ի և Ադրբեջանի միջև հարաբերությունները կլինեն ամուր, երկարատև և մեծ օգուտներ կբերեն մեր երկու ժողովուրդներին»,- ասել է Ջեյմս Դեյվիդ Վենսը։
Ավելի վաղ ԱՄՆ փոխնախագահը պաշտոնական այց է կատարել Հայաստան։
Սա ԱՄՆ վարչակազմի ամենաբարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյան է Հայաստան և առաջին նմանատիպ այցն է Ադրբեջան՝ ԱՄՆ նախկին փոխնախագահ Դիկ Չեյնիի 2008 թվականին Բաքու այցելելուց ի վեր։
Չեյնին 2009 թվականին այցելել է նաև Վրաստան, իսկ ԱՄՆ նախկին նախագահ Ջորջ Բուշ կրտսերը՝ 2005 թվականին։
Ջո Բայդենը ևս 2009 թվականին այցելել է Վրաստան ԱՄՆ փոխնախագահի պաշտոնում։
Վենսի այցը Երևան և Բաքու տեղի է ունենում Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև Սպիտակ տանը ԱՄՆ միջնորդությամբ համաձայնագրերի նախատորագրումից վեց ամիս անց։
