Լոռու լեռների մեջ, որտեղ մշուշը հաճախ է ավելի շուտ երևում, քան արևը, կա մի վայր, որի մասին նույնիսկ տեղացիները միշտ կիսաձայն են խոսում։ Դա Ղալթախչիի՝ այսօր Հարթագյուղի տարածքում գտնվող Սուրբ Հովհաննես մատուռն է․ փոքրիկ քարաշեն կառույց, որը դարեր շարունակ համարվում է ոչ միայն ուխտավայր, այլև՝ չբացահայտված գաղտնիքների պահոց։

Մատուռը կանգնած է բարձրադիր լեռան գագաթին՝ ավելի քան երկու հազար մետր բարձրության վրա։ Ասում են՝ այստեղ պատահական մարդիկ չեն հասնում։ Ովքեր փորձել են առանց նպատակի կամ հեգնանքով բարձրանալ, հաճախ կես ճանապարհից հետ են դարձել՝ կամ եղանակի կտրուկ փոփոխության, կամ անբացատրելի հոգնածության պատճառով։ Տեղացիները վստահ են՝ լեռը «չի թողնում» նրան, ով չի գալիս հավատքով։

Արդյո՞ք սա պարզապես լեգենդ է, թե իրական սրբավայր

Ժողովրդական լեգենդներից ամենատարածվածը կապված է Սուրբ Հովհաննես Մկրտչի մասունքների հետ։ Ավանդության համաձայն՝ մասունքների մի հատված միջնադարում գաղտնի բերվել է այս վայր և ամփոփվել հենց այստեղ։ Այդ օրվանից մատուռը համարվել է «լսող տեղ»․ ասում են՝ այստեղ արտասանված աղոթքները հազվադեպ են մնում անպատասխան։ Տասնամյակների ընթացքում փոխանցվել են պատմություններ մարդկանց մասին, ովքեր բարձրացել են լեռը հուսահատ, իսկ իջել՝ հավատով։

Մատուռի շուրջ պատմում են նաև լռության մասին։ Շատ ուխտավորներ վկայում են, որ գագաթին հասնելուն պես օդը կարծես փոխվում է․ քամին լռում է, ձայները խլանում են, և մարդը մնում է միայն սեփական մտքերի հետ։ Ոմանք դա բացատրում են բարձրությամբ, մյուսները՝ վայրի «սրբացված» լինելով։ Բայց գրեթե բոլորը խոսում են նույն զգացողության մասին՝ ժամանակը կարծես կանգ է առնում։

Սուրբ Հովհաննես մատուռը բազմիցս ավերվել է պատմության ընթացքում։ Այն այրվել է, քանդվել, մոռացության մատնվել, սակայն ամեն անգամ կրկին վերակառուցվել է։ Տեղացիներն ասում են՝ որքան էլ փորձել են այն վերացնել, մատուռը միշտ «վերադարձել է»։ Այս փաստը դարձել է հերթական լեգենդի հիմք․ իբր սրբավայրը չի կարող անհետանալ, քանի դեռ մարդիկ հավատում են նրան։

Վերջին տարիներին մատուռը հաճախ է հիշատակվում նաև վտանգավոր ուխտագնացությունների համատեքստում։ Ճանապարհը դժվարանցանելի է, երբեմն՝ վտանգավոր, սակայն նույնիսկ դա չի վախեցնում ուխտավորներին։ Շատերի համար վտանգը ևս մեկ փորձություն է՝ ապացուցելու, որ հավատը ուժեղ է վախից։

Այսօր էլ Սուրբ Հովհաննես մատուռի իրական գաղտնիքը մնում է հարց։ Արդյո՞ք այստեղ իսկապես պահվում են մասունքներ, թե՞ ուժը մարդկանց հավատքի մեջ է։ Արդյո՞ք լեռը «ընտրում է» իր այցելուներին, թե՞ պարզապես պատմություններն են այդպես ներկայացվում։ Մի բան հստակ է․ Ղալթախչիի Սուրբ Հովհաննես մատուռը այն վայրերից է, որտեղ մարդը գալիս է պատասխանների հետևից, բայց հաճախ հեռանում է նոր հարցերով։

Եվ գուցե հենց դա է նրա ամենախորը գաղտնիքը։
