Կենդանիներ, որոնք անհետացան մարդկանց պատճառով

Մարդկության զարգացման հետ մեկտեղ աշխարհը փոխվել է, սակայն այդ փոփոխությունների գինը հաճախ վճարել են կենդանիները։ Որոշ տեսակներ չեն կարողացել հարմարվել մարդու գործունեությանը՝ որսին, անտառահատմանը, բնակավայրերի ոչնչացմանը և կլիմայական փոփոխություններին։ Արդյունքում նրանք ընդմիշտ վերացել են Երկրի երեսից։
Դոդոն աշխարհի ամենահայտնի անհետացած կենդանիներից է։ Այն ապրել է Մավրիկիոս կղզում և երկար ժամանակ չի ունեցել է բնական թշնամիներ, ինչի պատճառով չէր վախենում մարդկանցից։ 17-րդ դարում մարդիկ զանգվածաբար որսացել են դոդոյին, ոչնչացրել նրա միջավայրը և կղզի են բերել այլ կենդանիներ։ Արդյունքում դոդոն ամբողջությամբ անհետացել է ընդամենը մի քանի տասնամյակում։
Թասմանյան վագրը կամ թայլասինը ևս մարդու զոհ դարձած կենդանիներից է։ Այն բնակվել է Ավստրալիայում և Թասմանիայում։ Մարդիկ այն համարել են վտանգավոր գիշատիչ և երկար տարիներ կազմակերպել են նպատակային որս։ Բնակավայրերի կրճատումն ու հիվանդությունները ևս իրենց ազդեցությունն են ունեցել, և 1936 թվականին մահացել է վերջին հայտնի թասմանյան վագրը։
Հսկա մամոնտները հազարավոր տարիներ շրջել են Երկրի վրա, սակայն մարդու հայտնվելը ճակատագրական է դարձել նրանց համար։ Մարդիկ որսացել են մամոնտներին՝ մսի և կաշվի համար, իսկ կլիմայի փոփոխությունները ավելի են արագացրել նրանց վերացումը։ Վերջին մամոնտները անհետացել են մոտ 4 հազար տարի առաջ։
Քվագգան զեբրայի ենթատեսակ էր, որը բնակվել է Հարավային Աֆրիկայում։ Այն հեշտությամբ ճանաչելի էր՝ մարմնի մի մասը զեբրայի նման էր, մյուսը՝ ձիու։ Մարդիկ քվագգան զանգվածաբար ոչնչացրել են մսի և կաշվի համար, իսկ 19-րդ դարի վերջում կենդանին ամբողջությամբ վերացել է։
Այս կենդանիների պատմությունները հիշեցում են, որ մարդու գործողությունները կարող են անդառնալի հետևանքներ ունենալ բնության համար։ Այսօր էլ բազմաթիվ տեսակներ կանգնած են անհետացման եզրին, և անցյալի սխալները չկրկնելու պատասխանատվությունը կրկին մարդու վրա է։
