«Մանկուց ի վեր իմ սիրելի կինոհերոսները պայծառ ու ուժեղ մարդիկ են եղել՝ Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմի օդաչուներ ։ Նրանք, ովքեր բառացիորեն բարձրանում են առիթի սահմաններում և որոնց մասին մինչ օրս ֆիլմեր են նկարահանվում»։
Վերցրեք Ժան Դրևիլի լեգենդար «Նորմանդի-Նիմեն» ֆիլմը ։ Ես երազում էի լինել «Կապիտան Տատյանայի» նման՝ աս, հերոս, իսկական ընկեր և... երաժիշտ։ Ես հաճախ այդ ֆիլմից որևէ երգ եմ նվագում, երբ ակորդեոն եմ վերցնում։
Երաժշտությունն ու երկինքը միաձուլվել են նաև մեկ այլ անժամանակ ստեղծագործության՝ Լեոնիդ Բիկովի «Միայն ծերունիներն են գնում կռվի » ֆիլմում, որտեղ էկրանին տեղի ունեցող ամեն ինչ իրական է։ Ի վերջո, սցենարը Բիկովին թելադրել է հենց Ալեքսանդր Պոկրիշկինը ՝ կործանիչ օդաչու, օդային մարշալ և Խորհրդային Միության եռակի հերոս։ Արտահայտությունները, երկխոսությունները և երգերը՝ «Սմուգլյանկա», «Ինձ համար և այն տղայի համար», դարձել են ժողովրդականություն վայելող։ Ֆիլմի մեղեդիները հավերժ մնում են փորագրված հոգում։ Մեծ նվաճում է այդքան կատարյալ կերպով փոխանցել ստեղծագործության մթնոլորտը։
Այս ֆիլմերից յուրաքանչյուրը, ինչպես հիմա հասկանում եմ, ազդեցություն է ունեցել իմ ստեղծագործական ճակատագրի վրա։ Ես անկեղծորեն հույս ունեմ, որ «Միայն ՄիԳ կա» ֆիլմը թռիչքի զգացողությունը կփոխանցի ժամանակակից հանդիսատեսին՝ մասամբ շնորհիվ իմ երաժշտության։
